💼 Careercow Antonio Brown / AB / AB84 / "Mr. Big Chest" - Former NFL Wide Receiver Turned Total Trainwreck; From "Whole Lotta Money" to Chapter 11 Bankruptcy; #CTESPN

Has he beclowned himself out of the Hall of Fame? Anyone else with his stats in the killer bees era would be a lock, but he makes Terrell Owens look reasonable by comparison.
Eh, he'll be there once he either A: Calms the fuck down or B: Dies in a tragical manner. The only way he can really screw himself out of it is if he does something genuinely horrifying that makes people want to scrub him out of the history books.

AB truly is the poster child for CTE.
The guy's got to have been autistic or something before the CTE too. I remember seeing him interviewed even when he seemed relatively stable and he just seemed extremely off. Like his replies never fit the questions posed to him in any meaningful way. Along the lines of Q:"What was the mindset in the huddle on that go-ahead drive?" A:"Yeeeeeah, we out there tonitee!"

Not to get too libbed out, but I genuinely think there's a racial element worth thinking about. No one ever took notice because they interpreted it as some sort of bizarre black guy swagger

I just added details about his time with the Patriots and his attempt to join the Saints. I'm currently gathering content for the section on his tenure with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Imo the quintessential AB lolcow moment from his tenure in Tampa (at least in terms of things he did in game) would be when he ripped off his jersey and shoulder pads, waved to the crowd, and essentially quit the team while they were literally on the field driving towards what would eventually result in a comeback victory against the Jets. He would go on to be unceremoniously released from the team almost immediately afterwards.

Here's a video of the incident, as well as a link to the relevant post in the NFL thread.

e: Also keep in mind that this was after then Tampa Bay QB Tom Brady (widely considered to be the greatest player in NFL history) vouched for AB, brought him in to Tampa, and led the Buccaneers to a Super Bowl victory in the previous season. Hell of a way to repay the guy that basically resurrected your career. Needless to say this would be the last time that AB would play for an NFL team.

He was an important part of this series as well.
- He sucks at payments
- Him and his trainer threw rocks at moving company warrant was out for him.

From all accounts he was a nutjob well before Burfict laid him out, this isn't CTE. I mean, that may be a factor, but he's well into Aaron Hernandez's tier where environment and upbringing play a major role.

If CTE made every NFL player go crazy than Junior Seau would've shot up a whole building before dying instead of just shooting himself.
True enough. Jeff Bregel AI6TN, former SF offensive lineman [who was part of their 80s Super Bowl team] and famed amateur radio operator was a very early poster child for CTE [back when it was just “he had a lot of concussions”] and won a settlement not too long ago with a group of pre-2000s NFL players, and the worst thing he does is get a lot of DUIs and mouth off on the famous 147.450 MHz repeater.

I seriously think this is the hit that fucked his brain up *vid*
Yowzers, that's intense. Apparently the guy who put on that hit was really notorious for going below and beyond with violence.

https://youtu.be/PvWoYVncPqE

Shot. A lot of late hits, picked fights, and he would intentionally try to take people down in a way that would fuck up their wrists/ankles/knees. He would even twist their ankles for all he was worth after they were both down. Made a spectacle of himself and now no team will touch him since 2020 even though he still wants to play. People have complained of his intentional injuries since high school.

And here is the chaser The announcer kvetching over this nigger getting a hard hit :story:

He was recently interviewed, and this topic came up, one might say he got triggered.
https://youtu.be/ZMGSSiF-KsQ
He chimps out at the interviewer for mentioning this for a while, until the dad card is brought out and pacifies him for a few minutes, then he gets back into it. "Man, I come up in Liberty City, Man. We come up for survival, this Liberty City, you either, you know what's come from there - drug dealers, gang bangers, killers." He also talks over the interviewer about not knowing what it's like growing up in Liberty City, then the guy mentions having 162 bombs being dropped on him when he was a kid in Iran, what a trump card. AB talks about how his dad was a pro, and a few of his kids may have similar aspirations (the prepared interviewer mentioned 4, but AB corrected him with 6).

You want to know the best Vontaze Burfict fun fact? Things really came around full circle for him. When Brown was losing his shit during the Raiders training camp, it was Burfict who physically held him back so he didn't assault Mike Mayock. The most notoriously violent player since Bill Romanowski is the reason Brown doesn't have an arrest record.

By all accounts he's a pretty chill dude IRL, something just snaps in his head when he gets on the field.

AB is a great subject for a thread. This, however, does not mention:

- His draft odds were lowered because of his idiocy, and his “villain arc” was indeed not caused by the hit by Burfict.

- Tom Brady pledged for this guy - this is why he was signed to the Patriots and the Bucs in the first place. Brady went as far as allowing Brown to stay in his home for a period of time, when he was clearly in an episode. Brown later repaid his kindness by posting photoshopped nude images of his now ex-wife (Gisele, THE international supermodel of the 2000s) online when Brady was going through his divorce.

- For whatever reason, that horrible “put that shit on” song and “dance” has become an international celebration when one makes a goal in American football and also the “soccer” type of football.

I seriously want to know what Mike Tomlin did to contain that insanity for 8 years. Did he bribe the cooks to put lithium in Brown's post-workout shakes or what?
According to his former teammate, Ryan Clark, AB was always crazy. He just went batshit in public after he got paid.

I always feel bad for Tom Brady. It's worth including his message to AB after the Buccs meltdown

You are demonstrating very poor decisions and poor communication to so many people who have gone above and beyond to help you,. You are acting selfish and unfortunately many of those people are exhausted by the erratic and unpredictable emotional behavior. When I met you, you were humble, willing to learn and anxious to improve things in your life. In a short period of time, you have done those things and accomplished some great things. And very much on the path to success long term. Unfortunately you have reverted very much back to a young immature man that is selfish, self serving, irrational and irresponsible. I for one, am disappointed in many behaviors over the past few months. You have seemed to have lost that humility and that APG. You have gone from hanging around good quality people that had genuine interest in seeing you succeed, to seeing others whose lives are erratic and out of control and leading you down a negative path.

This was posted on Snapchat by AB in an attempt to call Tom an asshole. He reminds me a lot of Bam Margera in that he's had so many people trying to help him, but he seems to find it impossible to not be horrible to them all in return.

AB is a meltdown in motion but the question becomes if he’s milkable by internet retards? Bam argued with nobodies on Instagram for hours and it not sure if AB has reached that point yet
Nah, his twitter is mostly super stereotypical WR shit. Cryptic tweets that oscillate between quasi-inspirational and conspiratorial. Almost never engaging with reply guys (not that he has a ton, going by how positive his mentions are I'm sure he blocks most negative attention).
He did get in a fight with Eric Weddle and Golden Tate in 2019, at the peak of his mental breakdown. Then there was the #NoWhiteWomen2020 moment when he was getting sued for sexual assault, that was pretty funny.

You say this, though this nigger keeps getting signed on again and again.
The NFL will absolutely blacklist players once their antics outweigh their production on the field.
He tore off his jersey and danced through the endzone on his way out of Tampa, where he was a WR3/fringe WR2 at best, and nobody's taken a chance on him since. He's been bitching about it on Twitter too.
There's historical precedent - Kaepernick was mostly struggling with few teams wanting the media headache of bringing him on and his outsized salary demands, but then his girl called Steve Bisciotti a slave owner and the entire league stopped answering his calls.

The night before he pulled this stunt, AB snuck OF thot Ava Louise into his hotel room to bang. She herself went viral around the start of covid for licking an airplane toiletseat to prove covid wasn't real or some shit. According to her Brown said "I can't wait for you to see what I do tomorrow". She posted a video of them together as proof. Here's barstool's reposting of a dailymail article about it.

AB maintains that his ankle was severely injured and he was unable to continue to play and that the coaches were trying to force him on the field. Sports pundits looked at sideline footage and things didn't seem to play out the way Brown said it did. The team and coach Arians maintain that Brown never requested treatment by medical staff during the game. The conspiracy theory that started circling after it came out that Brown was grew increasingly agitated about targets during the game was that AB's hissyfit was about money. Looking at his contract and stats, it appears AB was close to getting $1M in performance based incentives. Teams will certainly fuck over players if they don't care whether they stick around or if they plan on cutting them.

In addition to that drama around his release, Brown released messages and alleged Tom Brady's alternative medicine snake-oil salesman Alex Guerrero owed him money he prepaid for services. SI's coverage.

Oh and the house he was living at in Tampa where the chef accused him of non-payment was previously rented by former NFL punter and sports media personality Pat McCafee while he did his youtube show and wrestled in WWE. Pat mentioned on his show after finding out that AB had moved in that they'd left with rent a some bills prepaid. AB was living on someone else's dime for least some of his time there and still couldn't pay his bills. I can try to find the clip where Pat talks about it.

Steelers youtuber Urinating Tree was already posted in this thread. Here's a compilation of Steelers weekly coverage for the 2018 in segment Days of Our Steelers. AB and Big Ben, along with others, are such drama queens he had to do a soap opera parody.

I wonder how much he paid to bang her

I think he has. The HOF has cracked down on WRs by making it tough for guys like Torry Holt, Reggie Wayne, Steve Smith.

AB's 6-year stretch of being the best WR in football I think should be enough, but he has the lack of longevity and career collecting stats as an excuse along with him being nuts.

TO is the example that he could get in, but he was great for so long.
