anytime someone ever uses the terms "SJW", "anti-SJW", "TERF", "ableism", "queer/nonbinary/(any of that stupid tumblr gender shit)" to me irl in earnest i basically treat them like a mentally r-tarded person forever. i do the same w anyone who routinely complains about the decay of "the west" as if they have any shred of historical awareness or a proper material notion of what the West is. i think fake political bullshit is really easy to reproduce & buy into but also once you do a little bit of reading here & there (from any ideological vantage point) you realize that the vast amount of youtube politics, no matter what label they attribute to themselves , fascist, socialist or otherwise, are just sheer unabated, toddler-in-a-ballpit liberalism. the same garbage you get from your local radio station talkshows tbh except a little edgier.
i think it's honestly really easy for most people, well read or otherwise to pick up on whether someone's concepts are mostly just shit they parroted from a video they saw or such. all of this can be basically described as "validation politics" which is a lot less about the actual ideas themselves & more about the liberal exceptionalism that revolves around the communities & language associated with certain proclaimed ideologies, whether those ideas are internally recognized as liberal or otherwise. if you use the right terminology, symbols, & adhere to acceptable performative criteria people will tune you in, and agree with the essence of what you're saying. its basically a self-branding scheme the vast majority of media saturated people like us have internalized. its what talkshow hosts from larry king to joe rogan do. we focus on symbology a lot & basically use language & ideas like symbols, or labels in an attempt to gratify certain personalities that mostly exist inside our heads in the first place. we are a society of idols, preconditioned to revel in idolatry.
