Anna Faris Leaving "Mom" - This is Two and a Half Men all over again
If the star leaves it's time to shut down the show. Unless you can pull a Hogan Family. That 70's show was unbearable without Topher Grace. I did enjoy Delirium though. Because he basically plays Eric Foreman with Schizophrenia.
I hate Ashton Kutcher and when I actually did see Two and a Half Men it was with him. I tolerated him in The Butterfly Effect only because it was so fun to watch him suffer more and more every time he fucked up the timeline. Then he wisely chose to abort himself.
and you'll never find a better gig from here on out, sweet cheeks.
So what drugs are she going to rehab for? Because that's the only feasible way I can fathom someone taking a giant shit on what little career they have for.
I get being tired of the same role after awhile. But it's better to stick with what is working for you rather than take big risks. That seems to seldom work out well. Oh well. Maybe she can get some work on those cookie cutter Halmark Christmas movies.

It's a bit different leaving your breakout role after only a year to go fail in movies, versus leaving your sitcom after 7 years, which is a standard contract length.
Anna Faris is talented, though she'll likely stick with being better than her material deserves unless she gets better at picking projects.
It’s a typical Chuck Lorre sitcom, but what makes this one different is that they completely changed the format after a few years (and somehow it stayed on the air).
It originally was about a recovering alcoholic (played by Faris) trying to raise her two kids alone. I really think Allison Janney appearing as her mother changed that. The focus started to be on Janney/Faris, and the two kids slowly disappeared. Currently the show is focused on 6 women who go to AA together and, as @Stab You in the Back stated, is basically Golden Girls (but not as endearing).
Lorre must really have a boner for troubled stars, because rumors have been swirling about Faris’ drinking/ED for years, Kristen Johnston‘s stomach exploded from her years of drug/alcohol abuse, etc. Maybe he wanted the cast to be super realistic?
Also, I really don’t think Anna Faris is all that talented. She’s been playing basically the same character with the same facial expressions all her career.
