I definitely think there's a good niche to be found in re-releasing older hidden gems, stuff that either never found the audience it deserved or was popular but has since faded from memory and is begging for rediscovery or was never even officially released in the US at all.
There's also room for an anime publisher in the proud tradition of companies like ADV to actually have more of a brand identity than "releases anime" and build up a close relationship with fans.
At the very least there's room for being a sort of oasis for fans who aren't down with the program of the Woke takeover of the rest of the publishing industry and culture, the Anime Matsuri con could bill itself as a more "anything goes" con as opposed to the ever growing laundry list of rules by the "no fun allowed" Woke crew, a return to the vibe of 2000s era cons.
The main draw of anime to me was always in the context of US culture, US publishers, US fandoms, US cons, English dubs etc, I got nothing against fansubs but that's just personally the main draw and I've drifted way away from the whole thing since #KickVic but AM Studios is definitely a company I will support.
Honestly, win or lose it's beautiful that anyone is at least trying to save things from the Woke hoard, at least we'll be able to say we didn't go down without a fight.
