Anime/Manga - Discuss Japanese cartoons and comics here; NO CULTURE WAR DOOMPOSTING!

Jaadugar doesn't pull the punches, I liked it a lot. Let's see if the story keeps growing, the setting is extremely interesting.
The unmitigated temerity of them. Showing that little girl's hair and face so brazenly. Tempting every man in Mohammed's army.

Sayonara Lara has begun and it's first episode is a recap of the original tale, albeit with some adjustments to make the "Little Mermaid, Japan " thing work. The animation and music is stellar, far beyond what most stuff I've seen recently can do. Ends in a very silly way with some stuff that teases mysteries later down the line. Will watch religiously

Basic plot. Guy gets isekaied and because he has the weakest skill (skill copy) he gets thrown in the slave coliseum. However, he's actually The Spiffing Brit and exploits the mechanics to win.
It will never cease to amaze that orientals will expect you to seriously believe that anyone would think that something as blatantly cracked as a skill copy ability would be underpowered.

I binge-watched Frieren while AFK recently. Like most latecomers, I imagine, I spent the whole time expecting Aura to come back and that Frieren would actually keep her head as a trophy, because that "fight" couldn't possibly be it.

I was halfway through season 2 before I accepted she wasn't coming back.

I wasn't sure what to make of Season 2's opening at first, but it really grew on me. The match cut of Frieren walking toward her party and suddenly the last shot has a big gap where Himmel used to be isn't supposed to be funny, but it cracks me up every time :story:

the cold-ass "kill yourself" cracks me up every time lmao

I just got this recommended on YouTube and fuck, this can go so right if done correctly. If there's anyone that can do a sad dreadfully story it's Yoko Taro. And Keiichi doing the music - chefs kiss
Yea, Okabe on the OST is already a good sign. Tsurumaki has also been working on Evangelion since the start and his most recent work with GQuux was pretty good, even if I really don't like the GQuux itself.
Slightly unrelated, but I find it extraordinarily amusing how much Evangelion ends up in collaborations with other stuff despite the nature of the series itself. You see it in gacha games, on all kinds of merchandise, and even FFXIV is getting an alliance raid series in the next expansion. Though FFXIV also has a collaboration with Nier, but that one makes more sense since Yoko Taro is a whore who is happy to lend out the series as long as you pay him. I've always wondered how much Anno has a say on the collabs. He's still the head of Khara, and Khara owns the IP, but he never seemed like the type of guy who goes for that kinda thing.
