It is very useful to remember that Japan (as well as all countries outside of the US in general) has always had its own organic and native LGBT culture that was separate from the 21st-century American gendertranny delusion, that due to the internet and the sheer cultural and economic power of the US and its social media/corporate/NGO sphere, has started to infect all LGBT cultures worldwide to Americanize all of them (which is ironically a godsend for homophobes).
When the same yearly slop news survey of "Japanese people approve gay marriage" pops up, even if this is true, when you talk about "gay people" to the average Japanese person walking on the street, they do not think about an obese Discord porn addict who has trooned out due to too much Hentai consumption, and will fight tooth and nail to make the entirety of the planet to conform to their fetish.
You can see on X how much utterly alien and incomprehensible the American genderspecial cult that always invades Anime and Manga discussion looks like to even progressive and left-leaning Japanese people, even towards Japanese people that are gay themselves, and outright make Yuri/Yaoi manga, even this demographic will always be baffled by the bizarre gender religion that the Americans have spawned over the past decade, and are now attempting to completely ossify all LGBT subcultures and movements worldwide to conform to them.
