Yeah Super Saiyan was introduced earlier, but I think he means the bullshit power up stuff. I personally prefer it to the spirit bomb defeating Frieza.

It kills Buu to be fair but Buu was a shitty antagonist.
If you count GT it also kills Omega Shenron
So technically if you don't count Super it has a 50 percent KD.
Though you could argue that the Spirit Bomb was part of what led to Vegeta losing.

To be fair the "Super Saiyan" in this instance is different from the "Super Saiyan" around Namek wherein Vegeta actually has a more visceral reaction to the idea of it. Not saying that this panel wasn't foreshadowing but its obvious that the idea wasn't fully form until later on.

An incomprehensible amount of bullshit was behind Vegeta losing.
I'm not a Vegetafag-they deserve their mockery-but they are right in that in this particular instance Vegeta should've won.

Oh yeah I'm not saying that the Blond Haired SSJ we have now was what Toriyama had in mind at the time.
But I am glad he did, I like the Super Saiyan form it's fun.
Im not saying the writing in Dragon Ball is perfect though but again I've been revisiting it very recently with my girlfriend and it holds up a lot better than a lot of people think.
A lot of the writing problems people have tend to be heightened because of fanon.
Hell even Goku being an alien you could argue was foreshadowed by I believe Oolomg straight up asks if Goku was an alien in the earlier manga
but again that's a stretch especially since Toriyama hadn't thought of it yet.

Dragon Ball always had scifi elements to it, especially with the Red Ribbon Army.
But I think Toriyama was just an autist who was like "Shit I want to write more cool stuff what do I do?"

vegeta knowing how to create an artificial moon, yajirobe being capable of cutting off his tail, gohan regrowing his tail just in time to see the artificial moon, the artificial moon itself lasting this long when goku didn't need to be perpetually staring at the real moon to transform

Problem with using early DB as an example is that Toriyama was very clearly not taking the compounds and function of the world that seriously and was just continuing on his "everything goes" mindset from Dr. Slump (Goku literally goes to the moon in back to leave Boss Rabbit in one chapter). Now could he always plan to be the case? Very much so but I dont blame people for thinking its a stretch.

They never say, if you take Yajirobe at his word it's because he was in the area and wanted to see the fight.
As for the energy ball lasting as long as it did, that's not surprising. It apparently lasts an hour and 30 minutes. The fight between Goku, Gohan, Krillin and Vegeta didn't last that long. Though I can't find a source for where the time is listed, I'm assuming it's from a guide not the manga
Gohan regrowing his tail back is an ass pull but only because it happens when it did. Toriyama should have just had it grow back during the earlier fight with Nappa

I swear I'm one of the few who enjoyed the Buu saga. It was a lot of fun and played into Toriyama's comedic strengths. Buu was such a creative idea for a villain and I loved watching Fat Buu become good with a simple talking to with Mr.Satan

But in all seriousness, bringing Goku back again and again and again resulted in the entire series becoming less and less interesting and especially with Super turned into a bad parody of itself.
With Gohan the series certainly would have probably turned out less popular in the long run but might have resulted in at least something interesting.
