This nigga hasn't watched the original Funimation dub of DBZ before they remade everything. Has no inkling of a clue what "Mondo Cool" isThere are no good shonens. Nothing worth living for anymore.
Peak manga right here.Ver archivo adjunto 9095279
Super no Ura de Yani Suu Futar just got released. All six episodes at once. I hate it when they do that.
Nah dude shonen is still good, the issue is trying to think about it rather than enjoy the aura farming and peak moments. Most shonen is kind of dogshit once you get out of your teens. It turns into overcomplicated power systems and scaling so fast that only the most autistic/emotionally stunted/or stockholmed of viewers say it's good.
But how is the quality is it a fun story or just ok ?
What Oddjob said: the show's main focus is on the Main Character and his goon squad trying to build their own nation and the political and economic situations that develop from that. If you like that sort of thing and the characters are interesting to you then you'll like it, but otherwise don't bother. Personally I'm not a huge fan of it but I wouldn't say that it's bad, the first season does suffer from some serious pacing and story issues though imo where it seems to want to actually set things up and take its time for the first half and then suddenly it goes balls to the wall full bore sprint in the second half for no real reason which I can discern. It's mostly something you watch if you like to see the main character squad do nation building because Rimeru's power is making fights he was probably going to win suddenly incredibly one sided pulling a new power up out of his ass. Him being a man with the form of a women is mostly ignoreable because he has no sex drive because it's not that anime.
Sorry man. I'm an adult. And I'm not brown.Nah dude shonen is still good, the issue is trying to think about it rather than enjoy the aura farming and peak moments.
The thing I always hate about shonen powerscaling is the way it completely ruins fights. Caught up to the upstream of One Piece recently and even in the "good" post timeskip arcs, none of the fights make me really feel anything compared to what Luffy vs Crocodile and Luffy vs Enel did. Because in those cases the fights were oriented around outsmarting the opponent and finding exploits within their abilities. Now everything is just an incomprehensible mess of flashing colors. While Gear 5 can be kind of entertaining to watch because of the quality of the animation, it also just kinda leads to fights feeling like asspulled victory laps rather than actual struggles and I imagine the battles at Laugh Tale are gonna be fucking ridiculous messes because of how powerful Oda has made luffy. It also sucks the fun out of Devil Fruits because none of these abilities even mean anything anymore and every fight feels the same anyways. Most shonen is kind of dogshit once you get out of your teens. It turns into overcomplicated power systems and scaling so fast that only the most autistic/emotionally stunted/or stockholmed of viewers say it's good.
Which is a big part of the reason why the best shonen series will tend to sideline the fights in favor of focusing on other things. But then the author will often not be very good at that either and so you'll get five episodes of people sitting around a table making dramatic statements that should be obvious to anyone with half a brain but the characters treat as world shattering revelations. The thing I always hate about shonen powerscaling is the way it completely ruins fights.
And somehow One Piece doesn't even do that right despite the fact that it was actually pretty good at that before.Which is a big part of the reason why the best shonen series will tend to sideline the fights in favor of focusing on other things.
Remember in Nanatsu no Taizai when the mangaka started using numeric powerlevels and everyone thought it was a joke? And then he kept using it and it wasn't.The thing I always hate about shonen powerscaling is the way it completely ruins fights.
Why? I prefer when I can watch stuff at my own pace instead of getting weekly blue balls waiting for the next release. Even when there's something airing that I'm interested in I prefer to wait until that show or season is finished airing before watching it. Something's gotta be really good for me to watch it as it's airing. All twelve episodes at once. I hate it when they do that.

Which is fine but there are plenty of people who prefer the slower release schedule as it not only gives them more to look forward to for a longer period but also keeps the show feeling fresh for longer and it allows you to really take in the previous episode as you have time to ruminate on it before going straight to the next one. Why? The manga releases monthly and it has hit a dramatic high point and waiting is the most aggravating thing ever (it’s been less than a week). I can’t handle it; I need my fix.Which is fine but there are plenty of people who prefer the slower release schedule
Frieren is a shonen. So is Komi can't communicate or Spy Family. While I'm ahead, Ruri Dragon (which people will talk about since Kyo Ani is doing the anime) is also a shonen. Not everything under the shonen demographic is a "battle shonen". That isn't to say those also don't lose most of their appeal when you aren't a teenager (especially the school RomComs) but it's essentially the same shit; comics with mass appeal whose target demographic are kids/teenagers. The mass appeal part is important because that is why 90% of discussion you see online will be shonen shit; battle or not. Most shonen is kind of dogshit once you get out of your teens. Hell, even fucking Death Note is a Shounen released on Shounen Jump, the terms Shounen, Seinen, etc. are demographics, not genres.Frieren is a shonen. So is Komi can't communicate or Spy Family. some wrap I saw in the irls
dunno the show, guessing something shonen-y
Demon Slayer/Kimetsu no Yaiba, the brother and sister antagonists from the Red Light District arc.
tbdesu do even the Elevens give a shit about what make and model their itasha is?This wrap being on a Korean car (Genesis, which is Hyundai's luxury brand) is a bit ironic though.
There was always something about hard rock and refrigerator-sized men punching each other through mountains that just worked. If someone can't appreciate Goku changing into a super saiyan to the backdrop of "Change" by fucking Deftones - they may be a faggot. This nigga hasn't watched the original Funimation dub of DBZ before they remade everything.
