Something I noticed about anime pfps is that they act like their characters. They assume a smug and histrionic identity as if they're beginning to emulate an anime girl's internal monologue in every post.

In the same vein a lot of people with Warhammer pfps type in a gravely serious, affected, verbose fashion, as if they're a Space Marine, etc.

What causes this phenomenon?

not cool~!

i hypothesize that there is some magnitude of disassociation between the identities of individuals in the real world in contrast to their pseudonymous identities.
i think that a good portion of individuals would somewhat internalize and attribute their pseudonymous identities with themselves, by some magnitude
or another irrespective of their internalized intent to do as such. if one is one, not many yet they attempt to do as such to the best of their abilities
would there not be a set of intersecting attributes between said identities?

obviously i am not a psychologist nor do i have any formal qualifications in the field, i have no merit in this domain. take whatever i say with a grain of salt.

That's a lot of fucking words to say faggots who live online identify more with their avatar than their body.
