Following the press releases dated 12.04.2022, 29.12.2022, 12.01.2023 and 20.06.2023, the Information and Public Relations Office of the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism is empowered to inform the public opinion of the following:
By the indictment dated 18.06.2026, the prosecutors of the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism Crimes – Central Structure ordered the indictment of 2 defendants, a man (British citizen), aged 37 and a woman (Romanian citizen), aged 34, for committing the crimes of instigation to hit or other violence, respectively illegal access to the computer system, altering the integrity of computer data and hitting or other violence.
The present case was formed following the disjunction ordered in a criminal case, in which the two defendants (
https://www.diicot.ro/mass-media/4082-comunicat-de-presa-2-20-06-2023) were sent to trial, along with two other defendants, for committing the crimes of setting up an organized criminal group, trafficking in human beings in a continuous form, rape in a continuous form (two material acts), illegal access to the computer system, altering the integrity of computer data, instigation to hit or other violence, and hitting or other violence.
Regarding the crimes of illegal access to the computer system and altering the integrity of computer data, it was held that, in October 2021, the defendant accessed without right the computer system, provided with a password, belonging to one of the injured persons of the crime of human trafficking and posted on the social media account belonging to her, for the purpose of revenge, the materials she obtained in this way, which depicted the victim in compromising poses.
With regard to the crimes of instigation to hit or other violence, respectively hitting or other violence, it was noted that, in October 2021, in order to "punish" the same victim, who refused to continue making pornographic materials and requested to be allowed to leave the building located in Ilfov County, At the instigation of the defendant, the defendant exercised acts of violence on the injured person.
The case was submitted for competent resolution to the Ilfov Tribunal.
We specify that this stage of the criminal process represents, according to the Code of Criminal Procedure, the completion of the criminal investigation and the sending of the indictment to the court, for trial, a situation that cannot in any way defeat the principle of the presumption of innocence.
