He never mentioned the animated special of the 60's Adam West Batman they did last year, I've never even seen him repost of the infamous batman running with a bomb gif!

but has it ALWAYS been this overt? Playing the intro to the game actually kinda felt uncomfortable because of how homophobic the writing seemed to be. It just reminded me of how Hollywood likes to portray feminine traits as being kinda “evil.

The Joker is supposed to uncomfortable. He's supposed to make you feel unsafe. Kind of like how "feminists" like you say that complimenting the attractiveness of women makes them uncomfortable sometimes.

Cite your sources Dobby. Don't expect us to take your word for it. I think I've only ever seen one person who outright said they hated WestBats. The most negative thing you typically hear about it is that it wasn't a person's favorite.

Just imagine Dobby, covered in sweat, with one hand around a magnum-bucket of popcorn and a galon of sugar-saturated soda in the other, his ass tightly crammed into a cinema seat watching the first couple minutes of Watchmen, seeing this scene:

You can almost hear his heavy breathing in the background.

And then, while he still gets his hope (and other things) up, this scene shortly thereafter:

The heavy breathing is interrupted with a gasp which soon escalates into impotent huffing and puffing while Dobson silently fumes at the gall of such a "homophobic*" scene happening.

As for Dobson whinning about the evil DC fanboys now who "hated Adam West and his show for over 30 years, because it was silly and represents everything they did not want, which is why no one likes Batman&Robin", I ahve to say the following:

Dobbo is slightly right, in that the dark, edgy Frank Miller Batman has never had a compelling portrayal by an actor. Obviously, the Joker had Heath Ledger, and that character tends to attract edgy actors.

Adam West was really the best Batman, even if he was totally the camp Batman.

I agree. Personally I believe why he's the best is that it goes back to simplicity. It's this portrayal of Batman that makes the Brave & the Bold well received since it goes back to what Batman is: fun. Granted, Batman having more depth is a bonus, but in the end, depth or not, Batman is just a fun pastime to read/watch/play so you can turn your brain off and enjoy yourself.

That movie was actually pretty edgy at the time if you weren't a comic book fan and didn't know about Frank Miller's work. Up till then, the only Batman on screen was either Adam West or the Superfriends Batman. Having Joker be a scary-ass Jack Nicholson who actually murders people instead of playing pranks was a pretty big shock for most viewers.

The thing is, Dobson is most likely confusing "parody" with "hate", and it wouldn't surprise me out of someone with such a simplistic and ridiculous view of the world.

See, Adam West's Batman is easily one of the most widely known adaptations of a superhero franchise ever, up there with the original Superman movies. At the time it was broadcasted it was popular, it was well-liked and as such it became known way outside of it's original target audience. To this day there's still parodies and references to Adam West's Batman, the most obvious of which is the campy sound effects and onomatopoeia interspersed with a fight scene.

This is where Dobson is getting the "hate" for Adam West, because Dobson is a humorless jackass he can't understand that a parody can be used as an homage for something, not just to mock it. Hell, many of Adam West's voice-acting roles after Batman were parodies of the character that made him famous. But Dobson is both humorless and an egotist; he can't imagine someone can like his work (For starters nobody likes his work) and parody it at the same time, so that can never happen to anyone, ever

There is a chance this is just pointless armchair psychology, but it wouldn't surprise me that Dobson's evidence of "hate" for Adam West is something like the Simpsons parody scene or something.
