There are people claiming on twitter that they think @sourbrains on twitter is Dobson. I know nothing about this other than that he went to Comiket - a major Japanese doujin (generally adult comics) convention -and then complained about how it was filled with... Doujins.
People pointed out his writing style and behavior (going to an adult manga convention and complaining he finds adult manga there) is very similar to Dobson's and he immediately mass deleted posts and then went protected.
No idea if it's true or not but it is funny - the idea of someone being asked "Wow you sound like Dobson, are you Dobson?" And then immediately locking all posts and mass deleting is hilarious, even if it is Dobson or not.
Eh. Much like CapSyst I'm going to need to see more.
If I was on twitter and someone said "Are you [Infamous Online personality who has vanished from view]?" I would probably also private my account; lock and bar the gate against the flood of JULLLLAAAAAAAAAY sure to arrive until people are distracted by something else.
Especially if it was because I said shit about lolicon, because I know them MF'ers deranged.
I'd actually say the fact that the locked and privated account instead of engaging was strong proof it WASN'T Dobson, but Dobson did learn to do that at some point by abandoning his A Dobson accounts.

I am going to, Allah forgive me, point to the case of Tim Buckley as a case of as you put it "Living ammends".
I used to be yuge on a-logging Buckers. I still stand by that abject mockery. However, Tim Buckley after crashing out and killing his self-insert in his wacky gamer comic after a really fucking dark storyline, became a father. After becoming a father, C&P Tim B^Uckley
- stopped being terminally online and an obnoxious "Gamer".
- Sold off nearly all of his gamer tat on ebay to make a nursery and offset income loss from his wife's impending time off work.
- Sold a signed and framed print of Loss, something that he would previous tardrage out about acknowledging. For the 10th anniversary of loss (and now every year on loss day) he changed the last panel of loss to Ethan giving the view a stare and twisted grin; the nigga learned to laugh at himself.
- Worked on his fucking art. You can look at CAD and while its not Rembrant its leagues above B^U Link.
Tim has never directly appologized for his behavior. In interviews and news posts, he's sort of acknowledged he was a massive asshole. So while he's never come out with a weeping self-serving apology, he's demonstrated remorse, repentance, and reform in the most clear way possible: he has gone and sinned no more. So, I take Tim. Buckley becoming a father and growing the fuck up as one of the internet reform success stories.
We never got any personal growth arc from Dobson, just him dropping off the face of the net.
