Dobson thinks he is going to become famous in the mainstream like Superman with a very generic pirate crew webcomic that has no story and only shitty punchlines that can't even be really connected towards each other. Say about Peanuts and Garfield what you want, at least their creators managed to create enough connection between strips that some people were able to make animated shorts/shows out of them that were succesful in their time.
Dobson is completely out of touch with what people nowadays enjoy to read in a story, period. and frankly, considering that kids shows like MLP are even enjoyed by adults, I think it would not be that difficult to come up with something childish even they can enjoy.
Even if he wants to target at young adults, I think any teenager would look at his artstyle and just say "neh, too childish. I rather read a Spiderman comic".

In Dobsons defense (and I hate myself for doing this) but its worth remembering he claims hes not interested in fame or finding his place.
He has his fans, he has his hug box and he makes some very very slight bank. Dobson doesnt want to cater anything other the himself. He earning $150 dollars a month from drawing things only he wants to see. He trolls give out roughtly $40 dollars (total not individual) a month just to get early access to his latest piece of shitty art.
These days hes far more realistic about his chances in the industry (pretty much none) and the size of his fan face (literally 50 people, he still also has a bunch of DA fans from his inflation days).
At this point basically being an artist is a fun game for him to play (which we occasionally make less fun), he doesnt give a fuck if hes not making money cause the bank of mom and dad will bail his ass out.

Still, wouldn't be surprised if he somewhere down the line thinks that his stuff may one day make it at least bigger. As in someone notices him and he will be talked about in a more positive light, if not even get the chance to work somewher ein the industry, even if all he does is just serve coffee or some shit.

I don't get it. Dude is a college educated, (presumably) heterosexual, white American man. He has a "privilege" bullet in every chamber and is still a failure. I know self awareness is not his strong suit, but how can he not look at himself and say, "Hey maybe I wouldn't be a failure if I worked and improved and took personal responsibility instead of looking for some societal boogeyman to blame my problems on?"

Besides, the whole idea of art is to look eye-catching and unique. Not everything has to be perfect (although one still has to try, Dobson).

As a person who has boobs, I am irrationally bothered by poorly designed outfits. Boobsocks would be nearly impossible to actually design in an outfit and would hurt like hell to do anything even mildly strenuous in. Bras exist for a reason other than lingerie. But it's still a million times better than anything Dobson's designed.
