Korra looks stoned in some of them. Facial proportions are off.

That's quite an understatement. The thing is, I am looking at these frames and I really wonder how this guy ever thought he could become an animator at Disney. Even some of Disney's worst shows had better animation to offer than this guy.
I mean, compare that to the shit that Andrew Chesworth does. You know, the guy that went to the same college as Dobson and only three years after Dobson made his degree and now works for Disney, despite Dobson claiming the college's animation classes are shit?

These are scenes Chesworth animated for Frozen himself:

And this is a little something he did in his spare time:

This just showcases that it is not the college's fault that Dobson sucks at animation and art, it is the fact he is a terrible artist. If Dobson suffers from any mental disorder, it is not PTSD but Dunning Kruger.

Pretty awesome theme tune:

This is what she's supposed to look like

Great job Dobson!
I get the feeling all that time drawing the bear has finally caught up with him. And he can't seem to draw small eyes anymore.

I really think it's a mixture of both the 'tism and Dunning Kruger if he's that stupid to think it can't produce talent. BTW, what was the school again?

The Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD for short).
Which seems to be considered a rather solid university.

Which begs another question. Say, Dobson does not make it with his degree here in animation or comic industry. As it is now basically. Why does he not use his degree to get a job in a market that still relies on designing shit?
Guy could make it like the guy who created the Amazing World of Gumball and try to scribble out advertisement mascots.

Because Dobson's too lazy.

That and I'm pretty sure even those kinds of people have standards.

Dobson doesn't respond well to actual work loads and deadlines
and having to do stuff that doesnt "inspire" him (anything not lesbian fap material)
and he would have to finish work before it goes dark
and he doesn't do revisions
and any potential employer would have to "ignore all google results"

And even if Dobson overcame all his hangups and managed to get himself a job in design chances are his boss would find himself the new strawman in Dobson comics

Credit where credit is due, this is the first time Dobson has said something sensible

No it isn't, not by a long shot. Dobby says reasonable things all the time, problem is that he doesn't follow up on them with reasonable actions. He's an incredible hypocrite if he's anything.

Oh, my God. This is the reason I find this motherfucker so compelling. I'll think, "he's done, he's finished, he's a dried out husk of a man" and that's it's safe for me to just sit back and enjoy the milk... Then, he'll say or draw something (usually something only half-decent - though even that's remarkable - but occasionally something really rather spectacular in its own right) and I'll be thrown into a turmoil all over again. Because it's apparent there's something there, some sort of potential which it's now too late (or what makes it worse - almost too late) to salvage.

It's all very fascinating. And upsetting. (And to my mind, it's what makes for a truly gripping lolcow.) :heart-empty:

Really? Care to provide some examples? I mean, I was thinking more of his drawings (once in a blue moon, he'll crap out something that makes me chuckle) - but I'm more than happy to be corrected...

I humbly suggest that Dobson gets his own subforum.

Seconded.

Of course, Dobs means that when something minor happens, like your dad Robin Williams kills himself, you should get over it. But we should reserve trigger warnings for things that actually cause PTSD, like a spray bottle filled with water.

He's not wrong about saying this, but he is hypocritical as fuck. Even when he makes sense he still finds a way to be wrong.

I can provide one from today even.

See, he's not wrong per se. The problem is that he doesn't try at all and his shit can't even be dumber cause it's already rock bottom. Another fine example is the Zelda debacle. She's told to calm her tits at the anniversary of her father suicide. At the same time people should stop doing sexist crap and not be mean to/troll others.

I could go on and find other examples but there's no point. One of his defining characteristics is that he's a hypocrite through and through.

On the subject of a Dobby sub-forum i say NO. This thread moves at a pretty brisk pace but there isn't enough specific sagas or supporting characters to warrant it. It's basically Dobby being pissed at the usual subjects on Twitter and sometimes FB.

Woah, are we actually having a serious discussion about this?

I mentioned the possibility of Dobson getting his own subforum in Inner Circle as a semi-serious post. Truth be told I'm neutral about it. One positive I can think of is that it would let us segregate Dobson's art related content into individual threads, allowing for more in depth sperging critique. Other than that I can't think of any need for a subforum.

I am looking forward to Andrew Dobson II: The Inflation Strikes Back.

Wow. This guy and Dobson's animations are practically night and day.
