I am pretty sure the original source is not what NumberingYourState linked, since that comic is from 2014. It was actually created by a Goon from SomethingAwful named Borden in May of 2012. Here is the earliest use of it I can find (you will need access to Something Awful as well as archives to view it). In that thread I think use of this face was called "Real Dobson" or "Realistic Dobson", as a contrast to the idealized fantasy version he drew himself as.

Kiwi Farms is truly educational for me. Without this forum, I'd never have known what a Korra is, or that there's something called Steven Universe or that there are men out there who marry fictional pastel horses...
(I know about Caligula, but that horse was neither fictional nor pastel nor did he marry it - he just made it a Consul)

Guys, there's no way. This would imply Dobson actually bothers to do something for his Patrons, and we all know his track record on that. *COUGH*wallpaper.*COUGH*
It's only really funny in context, personally - the joke works because Dobson plays Skyrim like it's the Sims. (Pro tip, Dobson - you can make Sims based on your OTP and have them live happily ever after all you want. You don't even have to mod the game to avoid the majority of the violence.)
That said, you might want to shop out the personal details, or at least crop the picture. A couple people's Facebooks are visible, and I can see your user pic.
