So to get back into mocking his pathetic animation that he's only doing because he's a creepy pervert, is it just me or is Dobbo's art skill in that somehow fucking worse than when he was doodling shit in 2001? It feels like it. It feels like he's back to the very first doodle of AzP. Only worse. How. Just how do you not retain ANYTHING you learned from animation? Did he crash into slumber because it sucked back then too? Sounds like if THIS is his skill in it.

And I came up with that in 10 minutes. All I did was think of how Disney would do shit like that without copying Eichiro Oda and that is the result. I feel sad in some way.

It's mostly alright, nothing spectacular but not horrible...until you get to the mouthflaps. That part just screams laziness.

This... this is mind-boggling. How can a man, who is incapable of learning form his mistakes and failures, say something like that? I mean, do we all misjudge Dobson and he really strives to be a bad example? Is his goal to show other artists, that they shouldn't become like him? Because people are learning from his mistakes: Each and every person calling him out for being a lazy, hypocritical, blue Fedobear, that has no drive to push himself to the next level and cannot deal with criticism has already learned from his mistakes.

Andrew Dobson, Professional Animator. This animation is slow and jerky. Korra and Asami move like animatronics. I don't know much about animation, but there are 12 principles of animation and for a professional animator he missed out on a few here:

It doesn't really anger me, mostly just causes confusion and leaves a lot of questions. When were Danny and Spot ever established to be tough badasses? Why would Dobson choose his ersatz Garfield and John to convey his "lol anime is stoopid" message? Why is Danny mashing his forearm into Naruto's face? Why does Danny have bows on his shoes?

I swear, someone should make a counter image to this one where Dobson's character are getting pounded into pulp by current anime characters, either that or getting sprayed with a water bottle, whatever triggers Fedobear the most.

This of-course isn't classed as a trolling plan as the great reboot will never happen as Dobson is a lazy fuck.

Yeah I did stupid things as a teenager, but if I did something THAT stupid, I would burn it, hide it, try to forget about it, and apologize every time it came out. Instead, Dobson just tweeted it for all his followers to see. Which means this is what he actually believes even now, as a man in his mid 30's.

And that's why people hate Tom Preston.

I'd say the worst thing is despite being called "east vs west" it's not something like characters from Powerpuff Girls and other things from western animation beating up anime but Dobson's OCs. I mean it would have been bad if it was actual characters from western shows doing it but Dobby's aborted ripoffs? It's like an artistic tantrum. "Waaah how dare these filthy anime get more recognition than my crap, it ruined my life!"

Thanks. I was lurking this thread and when this picture came up I was so enraged I had to create an account to comment.

And yeah. What you said is made obvious in that comic where he "apologizes" for his past mistakes, and decides to focus on the design of some random character that only appeared once in a SYAC strip from 10 years ago, instead of the things where he really fucked up, like:

• The comic mocking the victims of the Aurora massacre.
• The Big Ben thing and other times he's been caught tracing.
• Blatant homophobia, transphobia, and sexism in his comics, not to mention a terrible portrayal of lesbians.
• Of course his inflation shit. And pretending to be a loli for exposure.
• And many, many other things he did that were much worse than the inoffensive bland shit he "apologized" about.

A bit OT, but regarding the idea behind that one strip, and this might be a bit of a :powerlevel:, but...

Most people I know don't regard the Wii as a step up in video gaming, mainly because the whole idea of motion controls ends up being less "innovative" and more "annoying and clumsy" with regards to playing certain genres. Sure, it's probably a more intuitive way of playing Golf, but if you tried to put a mandatory Wiimote waggle in before you could do a Smash attack in Brawl, even more people would be using the Classic controller than they already are.

What I'm saying is that Dobson likes speaking for fanbases he's completely out of touch with. As usual.

I am tempted of making up a twitter account and send him and the other artist a picture of Little Kitten Chi with the text "you hate me? Your lives are sad". I agree that there is quite some garbage coming from Japan in the last decade that is overrated but what Dobson does is just bad. He doesn't even make a convincing point. All he does is say "I think anime sucks in general because it is not exactly what I like" without explaining his actual and valid issues with the shows he doesn't like. All he does is say "I hate anime, to the point I don't even want little kids to enjoy their Sailor Moon". I bet if someone send the guy "Barefoot Gen" to watch, he would just call it the worst fantasy movie of all time, not knowing shit about it at all.

Its more petty than just anime being popular, I mean it is that because of that Justin Bieber strawman comic, but he doesn't like anime because of the one time he showed up to college anime club with a lesser popular show and people just wanted to watch Naruto or something more popular. So he just has a personal grudge against anime because he got mildly made fun of years ago and never got over it because Dobby is exactly the type of guy to hold onto things that happened in High School in his childhood and still can't get over it or move on. I think anime must trigger his ptsd of being mildly embarrassed ten years ago.
