It's because Dobbo is almost physically incapable of understanding how to empathize with and feel for others; he's a selfish, greedy, arrogant little cockbag who only does anything to get something out of it himself. He knows and feels better when looking at cute animals, and those are pretty much his one way to try and make people feel better. Since it's easy to do and requires minimal effort.

It'd be like if I half assed a gift which was just a doodled card that looked like an eight year old scribbled it; It's not a sincere effort, and it makes me look like a fucking awful person. Dobbo just don't care about people that aren't Dobbo or can't help Dobbo. Even in the latter situation, he'll only do the most menial of efforts; why do you think he stopped giving a shit about putting effort in his art?

Also Dobbo cannot the enemy name, even when the game fucking tells you what it is when you aim at it.

I'd like to further note that he defends Other M's story. You know, the one that takes the character of Samus and changes her from a tough, inquisitive, stoic, amazon who doesn't play by the rules, to a weak willed woman who will always defer to the man in the situation, who needs men to save her stupid ass, and who doesn't question authority at all because men. So he can't ever claim the moral highground by using Metroid without looking like a piece of shit.

This beautifully showcases one of the main problems Dobson's art has in spades, he is incapable of drawing an endearing or likeable character. Everything he draws is, for lack of a better word: Repulsive. As in, it causes rejection, looking at his characters is a complete turn off, it kills whatever desire there is to get involve with these or the story behind them.

This is also another reason why any production company would not give a second look at his portfolio because it provokes such negative reaction to look at.

BTW, who is the artist who made these redesigns?

Pictures of cute animals make a lot of people feel better, so it's easy to assume that your friends would be cheered up by them. It's pretty laughable that that's the only thing he can resort to, though.

It's funny because literally all of Dobson's could comics be summed up as 'why you should feel bad for art students' or sjws or whatever, but instead translate to 'why you should feel bad for me'. The only thing he really puts effort into anymore is trying to hide how much of a loser he is, despite the fact that everyone sees him as one.

I'd like to further note that he defends Other M's story.
