Okay, so a bit of power-leveling here- but I've suffered from severe social anxiety for most of my life, yet I still find these buttons patronizing as fuck.
Like trigger warnings, these serve no other purpose but to keep people in their comfort zones and stagnate, instead of actively working on their issues and improving themselves.
Also, you're at a convention. You paid to be in a large group of like-minded people who want to interact with other like-minded people. If you're really that opposed to talking to others, just save your money and stay at home.
Exactly. Social anxiety is stressful and one of the first things you need to learn is to say something like: "Sorry I need a few quiet minutes here, I'm stressed out." or "I feel a little bit mentally exhausted, a break would be nice." and then go for a smoke, or get a soda and take a deep breath, or talk to someone you know. Usually people are rather understanding, if you say something like that.

But you can not learn to swim, if you never get wet and you will never learn to swim properly, if you wear floaties all the time.

Anyway, shouldn't Dobson already have gained a lot of practice with social interactions on cons? He is supposed to have a table there, right?

Where's the "Spray Water Here ^" button?

Right here.

I'm no psychologist, but isn't that exactly the opposite to what you're supposed to do if yo suffer from anxiety?, you know, instead of working in it you'd only be enforcing it. But I'm just a troll, what do I know.

Also, I've been stalking researching some of Dobsons asspaters, and from now on, I'll just call them "miniDobsons" because they seem to share certain traits... the bad ones.

So what if Dobson met Ghandi?

Also... I can kinda see the use in buttons but in a different way. Like more a "I'm just here to browse the tables" button or something like if saying no to photo ops or whatever gets too annoying.

And here we have "Andrew Dobson, professional artist", saying that he wouldn't mind, if one of the most acclaimed stories in the DC-universe was ripped from continuity, because he thinks it has no value.
The actualy value of the Killing Joke might be disputable, but seeing how many people (critics and fans alike) love it, I'd say it has a place within the canon of Batman Lore. It's hard to find a set value, even if it's well liked.

We can, however, infer Dobby's value as an artist and professional by his statements: There is none. Nada. Niente. His inability to see the issue from more than his "Wu told me to be offended"-perspective just highlights what's wrong with him in that regard. He can't step out of his skin and see the problem from another POV. And he thinks he's in a position to bash another artists work like that. Smooth. I can see Marvel and Disney will strangle each other to obtain exclusive rights to "Alex ze Pirate 2: progressive boogaloo".

Some 4chan boards used to have threads where the point was to find good aspects about things you dislike. For instance I dislike Deus Ex: Invisible War, but some concepts really impressed me (they kinda predicted virtual Divas like Hatsune Miku). Imagine Dobson being forced to find good points about Killing Joke.
I wouldn't be surprised if Dobbers would expand his dislike about some aspects of the story to the entire work, making him unable to appreciate anything about it.

Why does Dobson care about media he doesn't consume?
And break with the great SJW-Tradition of criticizing something they have no first-hand experience of their own? Surely you jest!

Now me? I propose we have a badge for "Please shut up Dobson: Nobody wants to listen to you." They'd probably sell like the Apple products Wu-Sempai adores so much.
Make them shaped like squirt-guns and I'm in.
It's not even original in that context. Some student nightclubs in Britain regularly hold 'Traffic Light Parties' where you wear colours based on your availability. Red means don't bother, yellow means talk to me but don't expect anything and green means down to fuck. Pretty sure that's been going since at least the 90's
I should take a trip to you britbongs...
Joking aside, wouldn't be surprised if that was inspired by the handkerchief-code or something. So it could be traced back to the 70s.

Without power leveling excessively. Yes.
If that convention isn't full of tumblr self-dx I will be incredibly shocked.

why can't he just admit he has the 'tism :(
Doing that might give him some brownie points with the SJWs, come to think about it. He'd be able to claim trolls are bullying a mentally handicapped person. The only downside: Dobson would have to say he's mentally handicapped.

Then again, with the way Dobson tries to achieve uncertain short-term success by doing something that'll give him certain long-time problems, it's a total mystery why he hasn't claimed to be retarded a long time ago.

He might possibly have autism with a dash of ADD. That could explain his problems with procrastination. People with ADD also tend to have difficulty learning from their mistakes.

Well, he does suffer from Andrew Dobson Disorder, it's kind of like ADD, only with added sexual deviancy and exceedingly high levels of smug.
