Say what you will about the writing of Killing Joke, Dobbo, but it turned Barbara Gordon into Oracle, one of the most memorable incarnations of the character thus far. The fact that Oracle is a wheelchair-bound computer expert/information broker should make you and your SJW ilk happy.

But if the seething hatred is because of the author, then it's poorly placed.

If you took the time to research the rest of Alan Moore's works then you'd be tickled pink by League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. One of the best characters in the entire series is Captain Nemo's daughter, Janni Dakkar:

A "Womyn of Color" who turned out to be a more fearsome science pirate then her father, himself one of the most feared figures in the League universe. Bonus points for her having three separate graphic novels dedicated to her adventures against Lovecraftian horrors and Nazis.

Seriously, go work on your art instead of bitching on the Internet. Uneducated and unwanted commentary will not rake in those Patreon bux.

Metroid isn't exactly popular in Japan and Other M was supposed to be a big push in appealing to Japanese audiences. To do this, they take a character who has been seen as a strong, capable, one-woman-army and make her into a waifu. Now not only was Samus attractive, but she was submissive and more timid. Part of this comes from cultural dissonance between the American military and the Japanese military (where you are supposed to follow your commanding officer without question. And I mean without question.), but then you have shit like making Samus a foot shorter than before (and this smaller than the male cast), and being unable to kill the final boss (which is done by a man). All this in the game that was supposed to define Samus's character (the director hade said he wanted to clear up misconceptions about it with Other M).

See, the thing is... Japan is terrible and the Japanese gamer is even worse than normal. If Metroid isn't popular there, they deserved everything they got.

Funny enough people with a lack of constructive pressure in their life (which I've had to experience going into High School) tend to behave this way. No humbling grounds whatsoever, it's all about fitting in but not fitting right. He'll never get better if it's all about fitting 'in'.

My point being he's not happy as an artist, he should just find a new avenue and possibly keep it offline. Like for good.

For all our sake too.

Jeez, Dobby, you should've said so y̶o̶u̶r̶s̶e̶l̶f̶!

This requires me to care about the feelings of the artist, and people like Dobbo and the source of this quote tend to be smug gits who I don't care if they get their fee-fees hurt since they're too busy fucking themselves over with arrogance anyway and tend to fuck with people that like them.

Y'know, watching Dobson slowly unlearn how to draw was really something. Watching him slowly unlearn how to interact with people is somehow even more magical than that.

Andrew Dobson, professional artist!
Do you guys know, what makes you a professional, no matter the field you work in? It's not only trying to be the best at what you do and organize your life around your chosen profession, you also should be very careful when you criticize other people's work.

Did you ever heard a director say "Oh that Michael Bay movies sucks balls!" or an author say "Well! Twilight is badly written wish-fulfillment for prude, under-fucked, female teens and tweens?", of course not! That would be unprofessional!

Usually professionals don't say anything bad about the work of another professional, no matter how much critics rip that work to shreds. At best they will say something vague like: "I don't think Stephenie Meyers books are meant for me." when prompted.

And here we have "Andrew Dobson, professional artist", saying that he wouldn't mind, if one of the most acclaimed stories in the DC-universe was ripped from continuity, because he thinks it has no value.

You mean just like what you said about it, Dobbles?

...said a man in defense, who is not able to take any form of objective or subjective criticism.

I'm sorry, I'm completely new to this hating the Killing Joke thing. I'm not a comic reader myself, but I was told by people that it revolutionized Batman or something. Where is hate for it coming from?
Joker shot Batgirl then stripped her down and took pictures to show her father in an attempt to drive her crazy and prove that "one bad day" could make anyone a Joker. Some people took offense and felt that she was essentially used as a prop for another character's development(she was not a main focus of the story and basically was just there to get shot). While it did lead to her becoming Oracle which was a great bit of character development and growth, the way it came about bothered a lot of people.

In Dobble's case though, it's because tumblr SJWs threw a fit because a woman was "sexualized", ect.

Última edición:
They hate it because of implied sexual assault and a woman being attacked.
Women must never be the victim and rape is literally worse than the holocaust and must never be used in a story.
Conveniently they ignore the horror Jim Gordon goes through in the story and instead focus on one aspect. One aspect that carried over to the main universe that transformed a largely ignored Batwoman (until the new52, she actually wasn't even the longest running character as Batwoman, I don't know that she is now, but she was mainly known as Batwoman because of the TV/Movie media) into one of the strongest disabled heroes in comics.
