He, not only, redrew a (I guess) 12 to 14 year old SD-version of Korra and Asami, with body fitting shirts, but also changed their pants into these skimpy 80s-workout shorts (also known as the "pervy gym teacher attractor").

I think even the "Stop drawing sexist crap!!!"-panel isn't going to cut it here.

Dobson could have... oh just let me pick something at random:
Put both of them into a wild west setting,
or into the cockpit of a spaceship,
having them pose as "Daft-Punk-alikes" behind the turning table...

...I don't know, anything that shows a shred of creativity.

On topic of redrawing Asami and Korra, every time I see Korrasami (or any assinine shipping portmanteau for that matter) being used I think of this moment of Transformers history:

How could Dobson mix up Asami and Korra's eye colour? Just how? It is such a basic detail that is shown in almost every episode. That's him missing the detail for 4 seasons.

I see what you're saying - essentially, that maturity of subject matter and maturity of treatment are two different things. And I suppose I just wanted to apologise if I appeared to be taking a terribly snobbish, condescending attitude towards cartoons. Like, "oh, Spongebob Squarepants - expresses the basic Existential dilemmas of the human condition so profoundly"... It's just that, with the possible exception of "Up" (which I understand dealt with death, the grieving process etc.), Dobson seems to have chosen such exceptionally fluffy examples of media intended - first and foremost - for children. Which makes his claims to "maturity" laughable.

Can any Kiwis who really know their animation perhaps share examples of cartoons that take "mature" themes - and cover them in a mature way? (Powerlevelling terribly here, but - well, "Ren and Stimpy" was the last cartoon I paid any serious attention to, so I really have no idea what I'm talking about! )

I think the issue here is Dobby confusing mature content (Like violence and porn) with mature themes. (I'm not sure if that's the right way to put it)

Some childrens media can be really good at dealing with stuff like death and feelings of alienation but the one thing it generally never covers is grey morality, there usually is a clear line between good characters and evil characters.

(To add two more enjoyable childrens animations with mature themes The Brave Little Toaster (Especially this scene) and the anime Night on the Galactic Railroad)

Ah, Watership Down and When The Wind Blows - the films of my childhood! Both absolute classics... But yes, you're right - Dobson's reached the point where anything that makes him feel even slightly uncomfortable - for however short a time - can be dismissed as "triggering".

Talking about When The Wind Blows, Raymond Brigg's other work The Snowman contains pretty mature themes considering the audience (It was originally a picture book which was then made into a non verbal cartoon), in the documentary about the sequel he said he was against it being made and it took 20 years to get him to change his mind because

• shrunk their heads
• squashed the image vertically (this not only helped with their proportions, it made the ball round)
• lightened the lines on Asami's face
• brought Asami's left shoulder in and tried to fix her chest
• switched their eye color!
  
• put a brown overlay on the image to tone down the black linework some and pull all the colors together

• left the miss-matched foot perspective alone, cause I aint redrawing the whole thing to fix that

Not a bad attempt. But it is going to take more than a simple edit to make Dobson's art look more appealing.

Adding to it, Static Shock had some mature themes. One episode had Richie's dad a racist, which caused Richie to run away. Another had Static go back in time (with the help of the bang baby Timezone), to save his mother, which he couldn't.

That's a good point, I think Dobson just doesn't have an eye for detail.

-Dobson portrays his detractors as people who get pissed off at certain names or words for seemingly no reason. Pretty funny coming from a guy who bitches about "triggers".
-Dobson projects his own faults onto his detractors. Namely his defensiveness, elitism, hypersensitivity, childishness, argumentative attitude and victim complex.
-Is he really white knighting Justin Bieber? Seriously?
-It's unclear exactly what point he is trying to make here. He seems to be giving a very child-like comeback of "Well, you do it too!" The problem is that Dobson is portraying people who hate popular things as idiots even though in the very same comic he basically admits that's why he hates anime and manga. In other words, Dobson the more Dobson tries to portray himself as the victim, the more he comes off as a giant douche.
-Look at the Character's shirt collars. Dobson can't even maintain consistency in 4 almost bare panels.

Dobson does a lot of these mistakes.
He fucks up the name of the Elder Scrolls race "Khajiit", he draws Spongebob without his blue irises and eyelashes, he screws up a Pokemon's name despite it being the punchline in his comic... and that's just the recently emerged tip of the iceberg. He's constantly fucking up details big and small of things he claims to be a huge fan of.

It's really starting to look like he's either a really shallow faux-fan poser or he's got a really bad perception.

I'm not even sure I heard about these mods before, but maybe they were initially made so that the game isn't too hard for rookie players who play a less fighty character like a thief.

You can only go so far without killing anything in Skyrim. If he didn't want to kill most animals, he could've gotten Kyne's Token, which when worn in my experience, prevents animals from attacking on sight unless you provoke them. IIRC, there's also a shout that calms animals. Or if he wasn't such a faggot and played Dragonborn, there's a Shout called Bend Will that can pretty much stop anything from attacking you. But then again those things require effort to achieve, and Dobson is allergic to effort. Mind you these are all in the game, not mods. So much for him claiming to love Skyrim. I swear Dobson brings out the sperglord in me sorry for sperging.

I think you mean the yield mod. It allows you to end combat without killing your opponent when they say "I yield!" It's actually a pretty old mod, came out during the early days of Skyrim modding. IIRC it had more to do with immersion than lowering the difficulty. The normal difficulty in Skyrim is already ridiculously easy.
