I'm reminded of that drawing Dobson did where his characters are beating up popular anime characters. And just like that time, he's salty that someone or something he doesn't like (in this case, Batman), is getting more attention than himself or his creations.

The only difference is that now he's too lazy to draw the Blue Bear beating up Batman, he just posts someone else's artwork to get the point across.

More like he knows that if he drew the Blue Bear beating up Batman, one of us will draw what will really happen!

Or even more on the point, if "all art is good" then why did he make that tweet solely for heckling another artist over the way they drew breasts?
"Look how shitty these breasts are drawn!"
"All art is good no crits plz"

Because MySoggyKnee! and because he is a damn hypocrite (or knee deep in Doublethink)

Oh, I'd love the idea of a lolcow fanart thread, it's always great to see skilled kiwis show their stuff... or at the very least funny, usually one of the two. Or both.

Now that is cool idea.

Oh yeah, just found another issue with why those old comics look so creepy:

The irises are way too small, even for cartoony eyes. Usually that pinprick iris is for certain intense or creepy emotions, stuff like "OMGOMGOMG" excitement or "What the fuck is that?" fear. It kinda looks really creepy when it's the default expression. It can be used well but in this case I doubt he's trying to make everyone look like they collect sempai's clipped toenails.

Funny enough it is not the eye per say but the context, somehow in The Simpsons it works because the characters are too stylized to read as nothing but caricatures, bulging eyes and all. Since all the characters in the Simpsons have the exact same eyes for the most part, it reads as being normal within the context of the cartoon, if instead characters have varying degrees of iris/sclera ratio things change.

Well a lot of cartoons do have bug-eyes but I think there's two things it could be.
- While certainly small, there's still a ratio between the iris and eye sizes (just look to the left for an example) they're tiny but not as tiny.
- Dobson's using anime as a basis for eyes, so chances are a small iris that'd pass on circle eyes looks demented with the anime shape.

Holy shit, what the hell does he have against Batman.

This is just so retarded that it blows my mind.
Well at first he was whining about how modern batman is violent and in arkham knight he has a gun on his car. But then when that didnt get him enough attention he pretty much devolved to "fuck batman he's dumb and rich"

Jeeze, he did a pretty good job of burying her. I still don't know what her name is. But this woman he apparently loved enough to live with, was intimate with, and possibly even thought about marriage with... and this was how he drew her.

Meanwhile, he drew himself 50+ pounds slimmer and with hair.

Dobby is trash.
I really hate the brown shadow he draws between the eyes/across the nose in that style.
Dobson sure sucks at a lot of different styles, but that particular detail really grinds my gears... Dobson does realize faces aren't concavely folded in the middle, right?

So, does this mean, we can hope for a comic where he gets stabbed by all his class mates, one after another?
"For the art class!"
It is this type mentality the reason why Dobson has remained over a decade as a stagnant artist, never progressing or improving and probably never will. Yes, there can be a friendly, supportive atmosphere between colleagues but that is not at odds with the idea of "friendly competition" One of the reason why artist interact with each other is to see what their peers are doing and to learn from them to improve by one upping each other as a means to encourage said improvement. Dobson has this warped idea that art is this nebulous, completely subjective endeavor that is beyond critique or judgement. This whole "all art has redeeming quality" is a highly dubious claim. A great artist I admire by the name of "Sindoll" once said that "There are no bad art styles, just bad art." and rightfully so, anyone can objectively look at a piece of art and see if it is aesthetically pleasing or not, well executed or not. Dobson's "Everybody's art, no matter their skill, is good" is unadulterated bullshit.

I could understand being lenient with a hobbyist artists who draws art as a means to have fun and for non profit, but on professional circles you gotta learn to take tough criticism, specially if said criticism is aimed at technical issues within the artwork. Treating aspiring artist that want to make art their profession with silk gloves and endless cotton ball pampering is not going to take them anywhere. And wanting to be popular or better regarded among your own peers is not toxic, is showing a hunger, an ambition to grow and become better, to rise up and fight hard to achieve it. That's the problem Dobson has, he doesn't have that burning desire within him, the very idea of competing makes him crumble and not even try. Yet he pretends to be a pro and expects to be payed for his below average art while he acts as a hobbyist.

If all art is good then how come there are artists out there earning tens of thousands for their art while he barely scrapes together a hundred bucks? Clearly people see more value on some artist's work over another, so clearly there is something objectively wrong with Dobson's statements.
You know, after reading this, I wonder how long it'll take Dobby to claim his career just never went anywhere cause his fellow artists were too toxic and mean and also their brutish egoistical strive for fame made them push Dobby aside and took his spot in the sun away from him.
Wouldn't be surprising at all, I'd say. He's already laying the foundation to disregard professional criticism (even positive) by going "Nah, stop being a toxic shitlord", but it also covers a possibilitiy to shift blame for failure in Dobby's life towards the mean other artists who also hoarded all the talent! . . . Somehow.

I now kinda hope he'll do a "Brianna Wu beats up Batman" image.

This will certainly happen, if Wu was in Man Face's position.
