LMAO dobson being such a loser he's shilling for other people.
Seriously what is that from.
It looks like something out of those Bratz and monster high shows my nieces love that look like they were made in a mexican sweat shop.
It's from some zelda SFM movie

Notice how he doesn't add in the end of that where Link (quite easily) fends off the guards and gets away scot-free. As in that would be a more accurate representation of what actually happens.

(also, considering it was SFM and using several models that weren't really meant for something like that AND using 3DS models too, I'd say it's pretty good.)

He's actually breaking their terms and conditions by offering a "Monthly Gift Basket Lottery" since they specifically say they don't allow any kind of raffle because it counts as gambling.
I certainly hope noone rats him out :tomgirl:

What really bothers me is the number of people that manage to create awesome content. Dobson obviously just dishes out transparent excuses, but it's really pathetic.
"I don't have the tools to make it! The only reason people are better at animation is they have the better tools!"
And after getting the same tools:
"Ugh, these tools suck, it's way too hard!"
And I bet you anything, even after he realized the "better tools" didn't magically animate shit themselves, he still pretended that everyone better at animation must be having some secret irl-cheat that enabled him to do everything Dobon does, but much better and easier. It's kind of like CWC, who thinks he'd get a gf in no time if he just knew the right cheatcode pickup lines.
He always talks about overcoming his limits, but never actually does. He just gives up half-way and mopes.

Here's a nice and funny animation (from Skyrim, no less) made by a single person:
I really like the tiny details, like small movements/gestures/facial expressions, that add a lot of personality to the Kajite Khajiit Thief.

Here's another video, made by a very small group of people:
[fairly warned be thee, the video features somewhat sexual content, it's also very disturbing and features lovecraftian horrors beyond human understanding...]
The video is... well... messed up. But for fuck's sake, is it ever gorgeous to look at.

What has Dobson ever animated?
Oh right... That. I've seen Anime made by Shaft with more movement.

And of course, Dobson has to make a difference between TRUE and HONEST Animation and the animators that steal the limelight away from them.
That really bothers me. He complained about Flash being used for Animation in 2009. 2008 saw the release of Wakfu, a french animation show that was entirely done in Flash, and it looks amazing.
This is taken from the first episode, they even refined the animation somewhat over the course of the first season. You'll notice some details that are very common to flash animation, like objects sometimes being deformed instead of traditional frame-by-frame animation, but they do such a great job to hide the shortcomings of flash to create a very nice looking show.

Point is:
There's no excuse to not at least try to make animation. Even Flash can be a powerful tool.
But then again, Dobson gave up on the animation aspect a long time ago in favor or making comics, and look how far that has gotten him...

How about Watchmen where they kill off a male character who's a known rapist to motivate everyone?
Clearly, examples that would go contrary to Dobson's ranting are to be ignored.
It's SJW Argumentation 101. If someone brings up an unpleasant, inconvenient example that could ruin your argument, it must be disregarded and the person labelled a sexist/shitlord.

There is really no excuse at this point in time, even if he hates Flash and has not a dime to spend on software there is Blender, and if Blender is too complicated then there is Source Filmmaker. Point is, if anyone is serious about wanting to produce animation, the tools are there, the only barrier for entry is your own skills, desire to learn and the time you might want to put into it, end of excuses.

haha that's why I said "idea guy role if such a thing actually existed.".

Despite having some education in the field his desire to work in animation is starting to look more and more like CWCs desire to make a Sonichu game. It's pure "idea guy" mentaility, where they want their vision to become reality but don't have the skills and or dedication to make it a reality themselves. So spin some BS about how "it's all that little petty stuff" getting in the way of their V I S I O N

Just like how CWC just wanted to send Miyamoto some vague character synopsis and crude sketches and expected a whole game to pop out the other end I can't shake the feeling that the only position in an animation studio Dobby would be interested in would be sitting in on episode meetings about Steven Universe and just suggesting the gems should kiss or hold hands every 5 minutes or so.
At least with Chris he didn't pretend to be a game developer, he was just delusional and naive about what he could do with Sonichu (Thinking it's so popular and amazing Miyamoto would bound to want to make a Sonichu game) while Dobby on the other hand went to college for animation so you'd think he'd know better.

This old comic still sums up Dobby's progression as an artist:

Im sure it's been posted, but Dobby literally says he could do 3d animation just as well as anyone else so long someone else does all the work in making the models, textures, and skeletons. You know, everything that would go into making 3d animation.

And he constantly bitches about 2d animation being dead, but it's because he's only worried about Disney movies. Completely ignoring the wealth of 2d animated shows that are on TV.

Granted, I don't think Dobby is or will ever be good enough to work as anything other than a lonely grunt. But it's there. I mean he'd have to follow model sheets and it wouldn't be his work, but at least he'd be using his degree.

Even if Dobson could get his foot in the front door of his dream job, where is his animation portfolio?

For an example of his "animation portfolio," look at the video on his Patreon. It starts with his stupid blue bear doing rote hand positions straight from those "SHIT NOT TO DO" tutorials. It looks utterly terrible. And this is the video that's supposed to convince you to give this fat bastard money.

ETA: link to video

Before watching that video, I kinda imagined his Bearsona of his sounding like Seth Mcfarlane playing as Ted.

Quite different from what I imagined him sounding like.
