Also, I don't know whether I should be annoyed that he flagrantly ripped off Emerald Twilight's cover for his Batman drawing, or thankful that he didn't remake it with the bear.

I believe he was trying to make a joke about how the plot of that comic was Hal Jordan going insane and taking over the Green Lantern powers all for himself and attributing it to Batman's power trip (that I don't think ever actually happens). ... I dunno, I don't read comics.

I think the analogy is bad, though.

Why the fuck does anyone care about Dobson's opinions? Like, how is this worth a monthly subscription? Even trying to imagine it from the perspective of a 12 year old, I can't imagine how any value could be derived from Dobson's work.
Who can relate to him, either? He's complaining about the "batman of his time". Regardless of age, does any part of his opinion actually appeal to anyone?

Shitty art and narcissism aside, what is Dobson's artistic value? Do his ideas have any value to them at all?

He's not willing to ask these questions himself, so of course his patreon count is fucking dismal. He's purely unmarketable.

He has a huge dA following, not to mention how his work caters a lot to the SJW crowd. Both aren't known for being very introspective.

Dobson had slight artistic merit, but he stagnated, made justifications to do so, and gradually his ability declined because he stopped giving a shit. It's painfully obvious he's only drawing art because it gets him money and not, you know, because he finds it amusing.

As he stands now, he's completely unmarketable. His art is stiff and full of so many errors even someone like me that knows literally nothing about art can see issues with it, and every single character has that single smug face that makes you want to punch them. His draconian approach to criticism and his animosity to people who don't agree with him has basically burned bridges with anyone that could give him leeway in a professional field, so he's virtually finished as a professional artist unless he turns around and becomes Leonardo di-fucking-Vinci in the next year.

No. Because that would be work.

And Dobson doesn't like work.

Oh, and because no one's mentioned it yet, why does Batman look like a fucking old man in that Green Lantern parody cover?

DC characters are iconic and idealized. They are characters you are suppose to want to be (For Example: the recent "Be the Bat" ad campaign). But I'm sorry, I don't think THIS version of Batman is the one we should be rooting for or wanting to be like.

What the fuck is he even talking about? The most recent Batman is The Dark Knight Rises, in which Batman follows the no guns, no killing rule, even at one point literally saying (to Catwoman): "No guns. No killing."

It's also more likely that they didn't publish Miller's al-Qaeda outing because it was as shitty as All Star "I'm the Goddamn" Batman and Robin than because it was offensive.

But the most recent Batman movies are not the Frank Miller version.

Dobson almost certainly hasn't played it either, but doesn't stop him from spouting off about it. The Batman from the Arkham games isn't anything like the Frank Miller version. It's very much like the Batman from the 90s cartoons that Dobs grew up on (same voice actor, even!).
