Since Mr. Dobson is alright (relatively speaking), I'd like to add a couple extra details to what happened that day. (I'd also like to add that I am legitimately relieved in the long run that he didn't do anything stupid to himself).

When I was describing him to the police operators, I said he had depression (which is undeniable), but I also mentioned that he claims to have PTSD. Partially it was to show that he does have some major issues (in his own mind, at least), and juuuuust a little bit because I really wanted someone to finally tell him that a water bottle to the face does not equal emotional trauma that can never heal.

I wonder what he was frustrated about in that tweet.

I always thought the "makes me wanna punch him" reactions to Dobs's art was only hyperbole, but just by looking at this strip I feel a little more violent than before. The faces, the poses...

In his "speedpaint" videos he sometimes makes (and then promptly takes down) he does use the copy/paste way too much

Why are Dobson's straw men more rational than he is?

They don't tell Dobson he shouldn't be allowed to enjoy the things he likes. They get angry for personal reasons, but aren't often sanctimonious. In most cases, they are willing to have a frank and honest discussion with him.

Dobson ignores them, and sometimes assaults them.

It's this toxic superiority that I think causes most of the problems. If he were a more amicable person, I doubt we'd pick apart his work for it's flaws like we do. But because he's so high on himself and low on others, we're GOING to point out his glaring anatomy flaws and lazy sausage fingers. If he was more chill and possibly a better joke writer, we'd probably never have cared if he'd just done stick figures a 'la XKCD.

Well, if he was a pleasant person, he wouldn't be a lolcow. Noone likes making fun of a bad artist that's a nice guy. But with Dobson, you don't feel guilty when you harp on his shitty work. He's an asshole, so you feel justified treating him as such.

So, Dobson doesn't even have to wait for said opinion, he's just going to be a contrarian no matter the subject? Smooth.

I don't really have to point out how hypocritical this is, seeing how Dobson always marvels in his "I'm better than you and your opinion is wrong"-attitude.
It's not even like he depicts the guy in any special way, it's just some random John Doe - so of course this means noone aside from our artistic wonder will ever be able to accept a different opinion and go completely balls over it.

Yeah. Nah. Last I checked, people called out Dobson's immature opinions regarding matters he only sees through a lense of self-serving convenience or fetishisation.
