Is the art style of modern anime even that different than what it was in the 80's and 90's? I wasn't a huge rabid fan, but, most of the changes seem to be technological, with computers making it easier to add atmospheric effects, or draw distant things sharply, as there's only so fine a point you can put on a pencil and still draw with it. It looks a little crisper and a bit more flashy, but the basic principles of character design and the flow of action really hasn't changed all that much, has it?
To me it seems like just another avenue to bitch upon, this time with the old nostalgia filter "it was BETTER back in my day!" , when any historian can see the quality has only improved, but there are those who still defend vinyl, aren't there?
