Of course he'd retweet something so blatantly wrong that encourages artistic laziness.
By resorting to tracing, you never train your eye to break down images into individual shapes and thus never learn to be able to draw things outside of what you've traced. It's the same reason kids who are taught just to read whole words without learning phonics grow up to be terrible readers. References are one thing, but it's another to bypass any in-depth study of what you're drawing in favor of just copying it line-for-line.
But hey, this is the guy who goes out of his way to turn off anti-aliasing and even after all these years has no concept of line weight. So these are just wasted words.

Yeah, because clearly that's better than taking a character that's already a girl (remember that princess, the one the series is named for?) and having them be a hero or something (like what Nintendo did a few consoles back when they had Zelda play as Sheik?).
