For all that he's hitting the PTSD button really hard these past few weeks, he'll have abandoned it in a couple of months. That's because it's not actually PTSD he feels strongly about, it's deflecting criticism, and he cycles through various attempts at rendering himself immune as he thinks they're being effective. In the past we've had "you can't criticise me because I'm more educated than you", "you can't criticise me because my work isn't for you", "you can't criticise me because it's mean", and now "you can't criticise me because I have PTSD". I hesitate to predict exactly what form it will take next, but the underlying message is remarkably consistent (and stupid).

Generally, there's a lot of shame connected with PTSD. Most newly diagnosed sufferers (I have no doubt that he wasn't diagnosed with anything) aren't going to go to twitter and tweet about it, and go to discuss the events that caused it. He hasn't been in any meaningful therapy, and he doesn't seem to be on any medication (he'd probably be tweeting about it ad nauseam if he was). I'm not saying all sufferers are like that, but the vast majority are.

So yeah. He's full of shit, as far as I'm concerned. He latched onto the most Tumblr tier popular disorder and is trying to milk it for all the pity points he can. It's gross.

He's trying to retreat to higher ground, so to speak. All the arguments he upgrades to have one thing in common: with every iteration, the critic is shaded a bit more like an unreasonable hater that is objectively bad for continuing the criticism.

He's looking for the be-all-end-all argument to silence his haters - which will obviously never happen, cause his haters will never shut up. But it's becoming harder to find new arguments.

And of course it all goes hand in hand with his persecution complex. He genuinely thought people hated him out of jealousy since his art was just that good. Unfortunately, a shitton of incredibly talented artists made comics telling Dobson to shut up, so that little sand castle crumbled. So after several attempts, he finally found the sweet spot of self-victimization where he pretends the hatred is far-right sexists that hate his "progressive" stance on feminism or something.
He can not only paint his haters as an easy to identify stereotype, but he can also feel validated in his world views by the attacks.

Logically, that's true, but I think he's no more able to convince himself than he is anyone else. His ceaseless attempts to self-justify to an unresponding Twitter audience are not the actions you'd expect of someone who feels validated.

That anime art style is very early 90's looking, like Ranma 1/2 or Gunsmith Cats.
The difference to TRUE and HONEST anime is that anime girls have large pupils, filling out the great "windows" of their eyes:

Nookie Bear's characters on the other hand have small pupils but retain the large eye diameter, thus their small pupils basically swim in big windows of white nothingness.

I don't feel the least bit sorry for him. He's just trying to cover up the fact that he's nothing but an asshole to everyone. It's the old faking sick excuse repackaged and replaced with what he thinks is PTSD from getting squirted with water.

Just imagine what would have happened if the troll had given Dobson a Wedgie instead. He'd be the world's first case of Super-PTSD. :heart-empty:

Última edición:
"I really wish I was joking about this. But I'm not. In amidst all this talk about taking down the Confederate flag, GamerGate proponents have taken up the symbol, recoloring it to their "colors" and are now using it as their own.

This whole thing is so idiotic I can't even make up a joke about it. Just showing it is laughable enough as it is. So here, enjoy GG making a fool of themselves still!"

Dear Dobbles:

Seriously, it's pretty obvious that it's a joke. A really dumb joke that's probably meant to make idiots like Dobson butthurt. And, of course, he takes the bait.

The eyes Dobbo does for his Anime-inspired art makes me think of what a Looney Tunes director would do as fan art. Only difference would be that it wouldn't make my eyes bleed.

Dobsy's eyes just look dead. Anime or American-style. Fuck, even in real life his eyes look dead, I'm not even sure how that's possible.

Everytime Andrew Dobson hops on to a soapbox, he makes me hate him a lot more. It just makes him even more of a bitter cur than he already is.

The problem is that Dobbo doesn't care to practice or improve the details that really push art to a higher professional standard. His whole 90's anime look pretty much reveals the guy stopped learning about art theory around that time and he just keeps coasting with a poor, inadequate knowledge base. The whole iris to sclera ratio in the eyes varies from artist to artist, I believe he is trying to imitate the "Pokemon" eyes but doesn't quite get it right.

The difference is that even with the weird iris size and proportions it looks good because there refinement in the forms and the line quality and that is the number 1 element Dobson's art lacks: refinement. His line work lacks flow and cleanliness, it looks hesitant. It really shows that he doesn't have a handle of the tools he is using nor does he care to take the time to learn how.
