Unless he somehow finds a way to convince his SJW cohorts that pornography and the fetishes therein are somehow liberating or for justice. But Dobson has all the charm, wit, and persuasive ability as a warm bus seat.
Maybe he's selling his inflation porn on another account, and the reason why his art output is so low nowadays is because he's so busy drawing inflation. That would also explain how he pays the bills.
So in response to my comment, Dobby says donating $1 a month will allow him to quit his day job (whatever that would be). Looks like he's gonna have to find a better advertising strategy than posting links to his Patreon on his DA journal...
You know what? Between the squid-girl sketches and the above unfinished piece, I have to agree with those saying how...less worse his sketches are compared to his finished works. Granted, I'm no artist, so there may well be all sorts of anatomy/perspective/whatever errors I haven't noticed. But damn, these sketches and unfinished works we've been seeing seem so much more spontaneous, so much livelier - and perhaps most importantly, so less uglier than his finished works. Which leads me to wonder - just what is it that leads him to screw up so badly in the final inking/effects process? Is it some lack of skill or technical ability on his part?
Essentially I think a big part of it is that, when it comes to the lineart phase, he does not utilize line weight. At all. His technique lacks nuance, it's just a cut and dry "outline all of this with this brush size, in black" sort of deal.
Obviously the one on the right is much more vivid and interesting, it sort of 'pops' off the page whereas single width (on the left of course) is... flat looking.
Dobberino has experimented somewhat with line weight, but it's never done correctly or with any thought to final visual presentation. Everything is just very thick and chunky looking and it does not jive at all with his particular style.
His color choices are also godawful, but that's another post and shall be written another time.
It's funny that my example includes a bear... completely by accident actually!
Dobson the victim
Deliberately misinterpreting what people are telling you makes ya look dishonest....

It's like he's trying to misunderstand this on purpose, just to make himself look victimized. UGH. This man gives me a headache.
EDIT:
I've always loved the idea of getting a Patreon and having loyal fans who will give me their own hard earned money(!!!) just to see my creations. But.. I don't feel entitled to it. In fact I'm well aware that I'm not "there" yet artistically and I don't have nearly the kind of following I'd need. I guess he lacks that same awareness. I'm better than Dobson because...
At the very least he could make regular webcomics instead of random crossovers and fan art, there's only one angry blue Dobby bear but there's plenty of talented fan artists who produce art for free.

That's not a bad idea if he would get off his ass and update the comic frequently. The freaking Questionable Content guy gets almost $9,900 a month for his shitty comic because he updates every weekday.
Before he made his Patreon, he made a poll on his DA and 85% of the people said they wouldn't give anything, so why is he so surprised now that almost nobody is giving him money?, NUMBERS DON'T LIE, everybody told him it was a bad idea and guess what, now he realized it was a bad idea but he's blaming it on everybody else because he's a great flawless artist.
Oh well, that's our Dobson.

Thank you! Yes, I instinctively know just how turned off I am by his choice of colours - and it goes without saying his backgrounds are lazy at best, at worst deranged. (I'm thinking of the Mad Hatter/melting ice cream one.) But your example goes a long way towards nailing just what's wrong with the finished work. (Thanks also to @fartknocker and @Stud2Stud - I only just saw your posts!)
A thought came to my mind. The moment he seems fit to quit his job because his Patreon is giving him enough money, he's so screwed. I mean, a job always gives you the same amount of money every month, Patreon doesn't, which means if he quits his job, fucks up and lose supporters (which we know it will happen) he won't only lose money, but he's also jobless and must find another job ASAP and that's when things will get interesting.
Can you imagine Dobson sitting down in his job interview and his next employeer asks him "Why you stopped working in your last job?", and he replies "Because I was following my dream of being an artist but people stopped paying me because I didn't draw and just played games all day". His next job would be in a McDonalds for sure, how it feels to be on the other side of the counter Mr Dobson?.
There has to be some analytic out there that would show you how often a person tweets per day, and the time of day they tweet the most. But in fairness to Dobson, this wouldn't take into account jobs where he would get to use a computer with Internet access.
