He really is doing what I thought he was doing; looking at shit from ThinkGeek/Lootcrate and going: "How do I do that" and fucking it up by making everything dumb/creepy.

Seriously, I've noticed a lot of nerd mashups tend to take series that make some level of sense to combine. Like the items actually have a few things in common and often are from the same medium, or at least hit a similar demographic/fanbase. The best one I can think of is the one where they mashed up Loki and the Joker. Those have some common themes; both like to trick their adversary, both are nuts, both are villains, both are from comics, and most importantly: they hit the same fucking demographic.

This? No. There is little to nothing in common between Mario and Alien. The closest I can think of were both had comics made about them and that Mario fought aliens too. They are not remotely for the same demographic; it takes a strange bird to look at these two and go "mash-up!"
