I think it's fair to call him a contrarian.

I'm guessing Kanokon or some other bullshit where a little nerdy lad is lusted after by multiple young ladies with big tits.
Naw, he'd prefer something with more girl-girl. For social justice, of course.
We're talking about teenage Dobbers here. He hadn't latched onto Social Justice For Poontang And Profit yet.
Here is Dobby's tragic anime tale:
Dobson's fursona as The Mad Hatter. Check out that smug tongue action. Hands bigger than the feet.
![]()
Look at his arms, he has only one shoulder; his right arm is connected directly to his throat and if the proportions are to be believed, the arm that has a shoulder does not have a forearm. One arm is literally twice as long as the other one. The hand forming the bullhorns looks like a monkey's foot; the palm of his hand is drawn like a heel.
He is deformed.
This is Dobson's defining problem; prioritizing style over realism. He should draw skeletons of his characters before putting on the final touches, just to make sure the anatomy motherfucking makes sense. I love how he's so lazy that the character's shadow is literally just a circle beneath him, his entire figure should be reflected on the background, especially since the shading is set at an angle.
I would go on about how nonsensical his coat is but there's only so many times I could say "Dobson is bad at art" before it got stale.
Now that you mention it holy cow. Might be worth me trying to rescribble later.
Though question, if I do, should it still be that bear or should I try a design that might be appealing at all?![]()
Make it the Dobby bear, whatever its name is. Show utterly and demonstrably all the ways the picture could have been made better if handled by a competent artist, same pose and everything.

Ugh, what a whiner.
Has anyone done one of those "draw the fucked up skeleton of bad drawings" studies for Dobson's stuff yet? And I can't stop looking at that damn tooth. It just looks like Dobbear is holding a mint.
There's a few things wrong about what this says:Dobson's innane rambling dijo:A Brief Word About Anime...
I use to love Anime. I remember the days when you had to really scrounge for it. 90% of the time getting the dub was the best you could do. DVD was not invented yet, so VHS was all we had. Bad video copies and fansubs were abundant. Only a fistful of companies even attempted to import any anime. Great companies such as VIZ and CPM.
Then slowly anime started to catch on. People started referring to it as ANIME and not the politically incorrect Japanimation. Video stores such as Suncoast started building up their collection. Some TV stations started playing kids anime, and occasionally more adult stuff (as seen on the Sci-Fi channel).
I truly believe that the anime boom took off when Pokemon came into the scene. Suddenly there was this mass-produced anime that was available ALL OVER THE PLACE! It took off like a rocket! TV stations tried to mimic it by importing other shows, companies began focusing more on Anime and importing Manga, and Comic conventions started becoming Anime conventions. What once was a fun hobby that no one else knew about soon became a cultural storm!
I loved anime for the longest time. Right up through collage. It was here that my love for it began to fade. I took possession of the Anime club at my college. I soon was in-charge of finding new material, planning nights, and generally operating the whole thing single-handedly. From 7pm-Midnight I ran the club. Afterwards, once everyone had cleared out, I would clean up after them and prepare for the next week. It consumed me deeply. I had no social life on the weekends, because it was eaten up by the club.
Soon I began repeating myself. I was having a harder time finding new shows that were decent. Our club turned into a MST3K rip-off. We began makin' fun of shows. It became so harsh that even when I tried to have a serious night they would find SOMETHING to mock. Soon after this I began to notice Anime-Fan stereotypes. All my friends were just geeks who loved a show for no good reason except for the fact that it was Anime.
I started sitting outside while the shows ran. I watched less and less anime. Every new show looked the same to me. The increasing number of panty shots on 12 year olds and younger started to piss me off. I hired an assistant and taught him the ropes. Sadly I chose wrong, for he soon swept through and stole the anime club from right out beneath me, and did a poor job running it.
I stopped coming altogether. I just loathed Anime. My once favorite shows were now popular and horribly dubbed and aired out of order on various TV stations. The final blow came when Detective Boy Conan was introduced and remade into "Case Closed" which was an extremely half-assed version of what was a great detective series. I gave up on Anime.
Now I hate most anime. I can't stand to watch it anymore. However, there are a few shows which I still find entertainment from...
Anything by Rumiko Takahashi (save Inu Yasha), Anything by Hayao Miyazaki, Lupin III, Detective Boy Conan, The Slayers, Maho Tuski Tai (Magic Users Club), Mysterious Cities of Gold, and GallForce.
Those are the shows which I can stomach and watch without freaking out and complaining. I love these shows dearly. They are the only connection to me and my lost love of Anime. For this reason, I refuse to use them as a source of inflation-related ideas, save for Slayers, GallForce and Magic Users... (for they are just too PERFECT for inflation).
I don't like Anime anymore, save for those few series. You can thank the mass-media for that. When something becomes popular, it suddenly looses it's interest and appeal. Perhaps one day when Anime has run it's course and people stop caring about it so much, I might get back into it... who knows... time shall tell...
I normally don't comment on Dobson's drawings because I don't draw myself and sometimes I think people get a bit nitpicky, but good lord, that pose is distractingly bad. Compare with the original:

There was also a time-lapse video of him drawing his smug bear as different characters.
Don't you love it when when any criticism is directed at you, Dobson, you play the victim, despite being the instigator?
