I don't know much about other lolcows, but I think DSP also falls into this category. He's just joining whatever group is "against" those dang dirty trolls that have always harassed him. Just like Dobson.
Both out of pure ignorance for criticism and the "how to's" of gameplay and real life, to boot.

Had to look at the rest of the post just to tell that was fake...

Also I have no problems with the Star vs artwork. Not because it's good but it looks like Dobby's being judged as evil and will be promptly destroyed or whatever... I don't actually watch that show but hopefully it ends badly for that suffocating ewok testicle.

So much wrong, yet somehow, I can't stop laughing at the banal idiocy of that tweet. Does he even know how much he's currently "raking in"?

And a couple other things:
1. That art, not I'm not the biggest fan of either the show or its art style (It's fine, but incredibly simplified). But I'm pretty sure Star's cheek shouldn't look like it got stung by a bee. Also Dobson bear still looks just as punchable as ever.

2.
Why does he feel the need to insert his fursona into everything? Why does he think that that's stuff his fans want to see?
Because if he put human Dobson in there, people wouldn't "take him seriously", not that they do that now, mind you. Plus I think he's got some symbiotic relationship with the melted Care Bear.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but I found Dobson's sort-of explanation of why he has an irrational hatred of anime. I was browsing around trying to find out about his Formera comic and I found his posts on this forum thread http://www.animenation.net/forums/showthread.php?t=213313
Someone earlier in our thread had brought the story up, but here it is:
sigh... I hate having to explain this since it is getting way off topic... but here goes...

I use to LOVE, and I do mean LOVE, anime. I got into Anime long before anyone had ever really heard of it. It took me hours to drive out to little mom and pop shops in the middle of nowhere to buy random VHS tapes of anime because I had no idea what they were because there was no one to tell me these things. Then the internet came around and Anime started to catch on a bit.

It became popular enough that I took over the Anime club at my college and ran it for 3 years. I would never have those 3 years again if you begged me to do it. The Anime fans ripped apart my favorite shows, series, and movies in a particularly nasty MST3K fashion (Mystery Science Theater 3000) which destroyed my love of Anime. I was forced to clean up after those filthy pigs. And even the people who claimed to be my friend, left 3 minutes before the show was over so that they wouldn't have to stay behind and help me clean up. I lost alot of respect for Anime fans during those 3 years, and have seen enough of Anime to not particularly want to go out and buy new movies.

I still hold dear many of the things which got me into anime in the first place. Such as Slayers, Detective Boy Conan, Ranma 1/2, Maison Ikkoku, and other Miyazaki and Takahashi movies and series. No matter what anybody says about these series, I will continue to love them and they hold a special place in my heart for Anime. At the same time, however, the fact that Anime has become SO popular that kids younger than myself now know more than I ever did about Anime, and the constant stream of shows being imported to America, makes me not care about Anime as a whole really.

I still draw in an anime influenced style, but that is out of habit not intentions. It is hard to change your style after almost 15 years.

The picture in question which you seem to have taken such great offence to (although personally I think it's funny to see Goku getting kicked in the dragon balls), came about on DA and SA because no one partiuclally cared about my own creations. Whenever I posted a picture of my own characters, they tended to get glanced at, but never so much as noticed. But if I posted a half-asked drawing of Link or Zelda or some anime character... BAM! I got slammed with hundreds upon hundreds of favs, comments, and praises.

That sort of thing can twist a mind and I decided to have a little playful fun. No harm in that, is there? Does it seriously alter your perception of me? Do you honestly think that I still do not enjoy watching Slayers, Maison Ikkoku, Lum, and other great shows? Why would I continue to make Anime Fanart of FLCL or Miyazaki if I did not respect them? lol.

I guess what i'm saying is... just have some fun man. I've been seriously burned in the past by anime fans and this is my small meager way of getting back at them for not helping me clean up after the shows and for ruining my favorite memories.

If it will ease your pain, maybe someday I'll do a painting of Anime characters beating the crap out of famous Disney characters... just to balance it out... lol

But this is kinda off the topic isn't it?

What I really notice is that he says it's hard to change his style after 15 years. Hell, my style isn't the same as 5 years ago. That's stagnation for ya.

Why does he feel the need to insert his fursona into everything? Why does he think that that's stuff his fans want to see?

Dobson draws for an audience of one: himself. He doesn't make things for his fans. He's said that the point of the Patreon is so that he can draw things that make him happy and not have to draw for other people, although I think he would honestly preferred to be paid to tweet about stupid SJW issues in comics.

Dobson has created a 10 part tweet. To save space I've copied the text instead.

"(Multi-part tweet) Some people are wondering why I shared that message that, from a certain light, looked like it was just being helpful 1/9"

"The reason mostly stems from me being fed up with people trying to tell me how I should live my life. It was the last straw in hundreds. 2/9"

"I don't appreciate the condescending tone that I'm "in a rut" or am "stagnating" or whatever, either. 3/9"

"I don't appreciate people telling me how to deal with harassment or how to get over my depression. Rest assured I'm taking care of it. 4/9"

"I'm a bigboy & can take care of myself. Unsolicited advice isn't welcome. Especially when no one but my friends know my circumstances. 5/9"

"And I completely understand how self centered and obnoxious this all sounds. I know that I'm in a rather unusual and special situation. 6/9"

"I know people want to help but I keep LOT of stuff about my life offline. It's rude to think you know what's really going on in my life 7/9"

"Basically... Specific artistic criticisms are always welcome. Vague backhanded advice about my life? Not welcome. 8/9"

"And I'm sorry if any of this hurts anyone's feelings. I'm not trying to hurt anyone, I'm trying to make things easier for myself... 9/9"

Seriously, he's used the word "bigboy" here as if this entire thing didn't already give me enough douche chills. He's so whiny, immature and juvenile when he tries to address his critics.

No you're not Dobson. Many, many people have to deal with depression. 99% of sufferers don't sperg on twitter about it or think they're special because of it.

Prick.

Awe how cute, he wants people to think he does something other than play splatoon all day.

Lil' Danny Dobson dijo:

Define "big boy", reflecting on your own actions ever since you joined DA.

I think Dobbo read too deeply into the comment, and as such gave us a view of how broken he really is inside. The guy was clearly talking about Dobson's art being stagnant and in a rut, yet he seems to think the guy was talking about his life. He starts ranting about how people on the internet don't know what he's dealing with or anything like that. Beyond that, it turns into a case of "the lady doth protest too much, methinks."

Also,
Rest assured I'm taking care of it. 4/9"

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
