I guess Dobson's ""feminism"" wouldn't bug me so much if it weren't so superficial. I don't think I've seen him do anything meaningfully feminist. All of his "causes" seem to be totally shallow and unimportant, and his only activism consists of complaining on twitter or drawing shitty comics.


As for Dobson's new picture... I thought it looked OK when I was looking at it on my tiny phone. Now I see it is just his regular amateurish shite. There were the making of an OK piece there, but no.

He seems to fervently believe that the most important feminist battles are being fought in the production and marketing of pop culture, and that the best way to fight these battles is through social media commentary. Sadly, not at all an uncommon belief, more because it allows people to acquire the social cachet of activism (even if it's only in their own heads) without having to alter their lifestyles.

A lot of people try to caricature Dobby as some kind of feminist extremist but it's really striking just how enervated his feminism is. He likes to portray himself as assailed by an unending barrage of misogyny but if every single one of the things he wanted happened the world would still be incredibly sexist, and many women's lives wouldn't change a bit. I would respect Dobby more if he went on a Take Back the Night rally or something, but given that just picking up a pencil represents, in his own words, the absolute limit of his powers of self-motivation, this is beyond unlikely.

I'm sure his opinion has changed since Vanillaware did an enhanced port to the Vita with improved subtitles, enhanced visuals and new content.

Is this your first rodeo with the clowns of tumblr? They'll either ignore it, cause it ruins their argument or they'll try to dismiss it as some sort of power fantasy that also empowers men and devalues women.
They might even call everyone who gets the Big Boss figurine gay for kneading an old man's ass being blissfully ignorant of how self-righteous and sexist that would be.
I mean, the depiction of men in Dragon's Crown didn't really enter their hate-filled minds since they were so hung up on the Amazone and sorceress... People even bitched about the elf-archer's design and how sexist it would be...

Just to remind you, these people do not think logically, they see something, immediately scan it for minor details to be offended about (even if it's just their own hare-brained conclusion about something and -in fact- not even real) and go into a frothing rage where they attack everything that is 'the enemy'.
And The Enemy is always: Whoever was involved in what made them angry, everyone that is not actively joining in on the hate-bandwaggon and (of course) women who refuse to be part of this nonsense altogether.

The elf was one of the most conservative characters in Dragon's Crown. At the same time, it doesn't surprise me that they nitpick minute details to bitch about.

If they can't find things to fake getting mad at, then they can't get reblogged and asspatted by other people faking sobbing into a tub of lard. And everyone knows this is somehow more important than friends or a job or something.

Yeah, it's pretty obvious Dobson has never even played a MGS game:

His spergery over MGS is just the ultimate proof that he don't play games that often, or at bare minimum researches that which he wants to sob about while masturbating furiously to the women in it.
 
Yeah it sucks to be the victim of a troll where money is concerned, but that's what happens when you make a site like Kickstarter or Patreon where e-commerce laws aren't as rigidly enforced (as of now).

Likewise, it sucks to donate your money to a project you're intrigued by only to end up never seeing any rewards or one cent of your money refunded because the person turns out to be a con artist!
 
Do you guys remember that disgustingly dickish tweet Dobbo has made to Zelda Williams? You know, the one where he told a daughter dealing with the dead of his father to calm her tits? Using a crappy caption from the current Thor comics? I know, it's pathetic to get work up over lolcows, but I'd lie if I'd say it didn't rustle my jimmies. In fact, although I was going to draw a caricature of ol' Slobson inspired by another tweet, his douchebaggery towards Williams provoked me (or, dare I say, triggered me, oho!) to do another drawing, which I'd like to present to you Dearest Kiwis:
