I'm not quite sure, but I think he's actually lost money on his Patreon recently. I remember it used to be above $100 a while back and now it's not.

I remember that in one of the previous posts, someone pointed out a fan asking Dobson to actually pay out on his Patreon reports and Dobson essentially told him to fuck off, and following that there was $5 less on Dobson's Patreon.

Well since he never does anything new or have something people might wanna see updated or isn't really worth talking about except to us losers on a lowcow forum, it's probably not gonna go up any time soon.

Then one by one he's gona do the one thing he's ever been any good at: being a total jerkoff to what little fanbase he has. It's probably just gonna keep sinking till he's only got the even more diehard fans and eventually, he'll probably find some way to piss them off too. One would usually think that when you're basically reliant on others for your support, you might wanna put on a better face. It might've worked better like so:
"Oh hey, just saw this and honestly, you just brought it to my attention. I get so many comments that it's really easy for a single one to get lost amongst the lot. Sorry if it seemed like I was ignoring you, I didn't mean to give that impression!" something like that. Be less douchey than calling a possibly paying customer an entitled shitlord.

I think that sudden rise in his profits was actually from trolls. They all threw a bit of money to make Dobby think he was actually going to be successful, but then they pulled out at the last second.

And concerning the message, I concur a hundred percent.
A quick "Sorry, I was a bit distracted, so I forgot to propperly thank you for your message!" and everyone would have felt good about themselves and moved on with their lives. But no, Dobshit has to choose the dumbest option available and piss all over this obviously dedicated fan. A little bit of common courtesy and decency would have been all it takes to not make a spectacle out of himself... Especially the "Damned if I do, damned if I don't, eh?"-shit makes me want to slap him in the face. Is he really insinuating that writing a quick "Thank you" would have been a bad option?
Here's a shocker: The fans might not be entitled to get attention and a response from the person they admire, but on the other hand the artist isn't entitled to other people's affection and emotional/monetary support. It's almost like pissing off the people that fucking FUND YOUR FUCKING LIVELIHOOD is a bad idea or something.
Shit like this is why I actually want to see Dobson fail without feeling remorse of any kind.


Dobson is never going to realize this, Dobson is never going to learn anything. He'll piss off the last few fans with his shitty attitude and then wonder why he doesn't have so many fans. And he'll pretend it's the patriarchy or trolls or whatever nemesis he conjures up in his mind that is at fault.

God damn. It should be noted that post was written 7 years after high school. 9 years after the other student had graduated. I wonder if he still holds a grudge. And I desperately want to know the nickname.

The absolute highlight for me is that the other kid was doing what his critics do now, drawing his characters better than Dobby. Well, that and Dobby threatening copyright infringement on his doodles in high school.

Also that Blog entry, my fucking god. I know it's something from 8 years ago, so one shouldn't be putting too much importance into it, but it's amazing how delusional he was.
Seriously, Dobbles thinks the guy started dating a girl just to piss him off? If that was his opinion during High School, I'd call it immature and divorced from reality, but this is something he wrote 7 years after the fact. But it's nice to know that Dobson was trying to shut down carricatures of his work by throwing hissyfits and claiming copyright infringement. Not much different from now, where he just deactivates all comments to avoid criticism.

But concerning that last line of his blog entry, at least Dobson can - after 15 years of hard work - look back at his life, his success and his massive support from fans around the globe to confidently approach the former bully and tell him to fuck off, right?

Hell, one could probably find a big problem in that apparently this "bully" was allowed to destroy other peoples' work in the middle of class. And y'know, if he actually kicked Dobbers and the like, you'd think that would be worth a mention more than "he drew meeeeen things and I threatened to sue him for it"

In other words, almost all of that comic is literally lying for sympathy.
