That's probably the most amazing thing about Dobson in my opinion - he's not any good at any aspect of drawing. His anatomy is terrible, his coloring is terrible, his techniques are terrible... but not only that, he doesn't even seem to enjoy creating art. 90% of his comics or more are devoted to complaining about how much of a pain in the ass it is to do comics and how many problems he has because of his drawings. He admits he doesn't do backgrounds because it's so HARD and life is so HARD and he can barely manage to do art. (:_(

So why the hell did he decide to attempt to do this for a living in the first place?
Dobbys strikes me as being a person that saw a lot of people getting popular as cartoonists and just hopping on that bandwagon without putting any thought into what he's doing, and now he's just too stubborn to stop.

Maybe he did enjoy drawing at one point, but then he got discouraged at not getting a job with Disney so he fell into a hole full of half ass-i-tude and now he just does it because it's the only thing he kind of knows how to do

He can color better than me. granted he is stupid enough to do everything in one layer and he probably compresses everything in Jpeg format.
I don't think so bro, dobbles' palletes are so fucking dull and uninteresting and they make me want to puke, unless you mute the colors to a horrifying degree and purposely choose the most clashing colors in the universe I don't think your color theory is as bad as dobson. Like I'm not master of color theory, but it's like he's afraid to try something bold and fun.
Like take a look at Viva Piñata, Skylanders and Yoshi's Island. All of them make great use of colors and are fun to look at, dobson's art is not fun to look at.

In terms of raw talent, he's well above Chris.

In terms of how he's honed his craft, Chris beats him up and steals his lunch money for the Lego fund.

It's really kind of amazing. I know exactly one artist who is this fucking lazy besides Dobson:

Golden Knight.

You know, I don't have much knowledge of anatomy, but the man on the left's arms look disproportionately short. And why is his tie so tiny?
I think that's his attempt at the "Hands in pockets" pose gone horribly, horribly wrong. (as @warhound pointed out, his arms don't look like they could reach the mid-thigh region.) As for his tie, maybe he shopped at a store for midgets?

I remember coming across Dobson many years ago when I was a small impressionable artist and thought his stuff was interesting. Flash forward about 10 years, art school and my own progress and it's just painful to see how he hasn't really improved in any sizable way in that long. He's honestly kind of regressed due to trying to find a style without any foundation.

I honestly kind of want to redline some of this garbage just as a guide of what not to do.

It's especially noticeable in the Kanto Pokemon group picture. He could've had fun using such a massive variety of color and choosing where to place Pokemon not just by size but color in order to make everyone pop out. Instead he used shades of motherfucking brown (presumably for an old-fashioned look but who can be sure with Dobson) which makes all the Pokemon kind of fuse into each other. Like he dropped the picture in muddy water and said "Fuck it, I'll upload it anyways."

I went looking for that drawing and I noticed this '*critique' underneath it

Oh my fucking god they actually said "You can do better than this"

As in they think you actually had a chance if you weren't so passionless and utterly lazy.

Quite frankly they're misguided as hell, Dobby can't do better than that. He can't do better because he won't. Being incompetent isn't an excuse not to try just look at me.

I honestly don't get this guy. I mean, is the concept of getting joy out of improving your craft so foreign to him? I'm confident that I'm not the only one who thinks half the fun comes from learning from your mistakes and getting better step by step. Sure, looking back at your old, crappy art that seemed so good years ago might be jarring, but then you realize how much better (or, in my case: less shitty) you are now, and BAM, endorphine rush.

Dobbo Wobbo will probably never know this feeling.

Última edición:
Dobson has such a victim complex.

One guy says something kind of negative and he throws a fit on Twitter. The funny thing is, he's got tons of people posting to his DeviantArt account, but this guy can't be assed to respond to anyone who says anything nice to him.

He hasn't bothered responding to anyone who is supportive, yet he takes all this time to engage with obvious trolls. I didn't include any in the screenshots, but the only comments he replies to on his DA are ones that call him out on his bullshit. I think in some messed up way he actually likes getting negative attention.
