Actually the stance on porn is a point of contention: some are still against it completely, some like feminist porn only, some are pro-BDSM, others think it glorifies abuse. Porn about fictional rape and rape fantasies are even more of a hot-button issue.

I honestly can't imagine he has any friends, even as an SJW, he's just a generally unlikeable, self-absorbed person who will shut out anyone who doesn't kiss his ass. Why would ANY human being want to be friends with someone like him?

Weeell... I like Voyager. It is my favorite show in the Star Trek universe, but that has more to do with how I used to watch it when I was younger. I never really got into TNG, but I somehow stuck with Voyager. I do see why it's inferior to most other shows, but it's a guilty pleasure. Also it has Robert Picardo as the holo-doc. He's one of my favorite ST characters of all time.

That said: Supporting Voyager only for that female captain is fucking stupid. The show has severe weaknesses - and a lot of those surround Janeway being terribly written and flip-flopping around all the fucking time.
But hey, eggheads like Dobbongo can pretend there's lesbian undertones between Janeway and Seven of Nine, so it's hardly surprising why he likes that show. Add in a scene where female ensigns are exposed to the vacuum, making them blow up like balloons and the guy will herald it as the best show ever created.

Personal tastes aside, Voyager is easily the weakest in the franchise and Janeway is the weakest captain. It had no clear direction, and ignored its own continuity when convenient. A good bit of that is the inconsistent writing you pointed out. But Robert Picardo was pretty boss as the holodoc.
