Yeah, but fortunately for you, you're not like Dobson. I'm sure you don't feel the need to complain about every. single. goddamn. thing, no matter how trivial it is.Just post the damn things, that's what I'd do in this situation.
Dobson has done the impossible."The internet is so incredibly vital to our lives"
I decided to see just how many times Wu Senpai has acknowledged Dobear's existence.
- Gets less than $1200 a year from his internet job
- Gets "bulled" by the internet
- Just wastes his day away tweeting to his follower count (that user to $ is even lower than his annual patron income) about stupid gemtlemen sperging and to a certain person who I have yet to see reply to any of his tweets and most likely has muted him long ago.
- Claims this the social side of this is an actual essential thing he needs when in reality it just seems to be stopping him from doing work and plenty of comic artists don't spend all day on Twitter and are much more successful than him.

If I wanted to, yes. But I'm not that kind of man that wants to. I mean, why should I complain about how some internet people act every hour of every day?Yeah, but fortunately for you, you're not like Dobson. Nobody is asking him to leave the internet forever.
So, does Dobson have a comic online at the moment that's not hosted on DA?
Can't seem to find anything... which begs the question: How can you consider yourself a cartoonist when you don't have anything online?
I have never really checked out his Alex ze Pirate stuff in detail, I mainly checked out stuff like the Lesbian Kick garbage but I never bothered to find out more about the characters or the overall plot (or lack thereof).
It's simply amazing, is that comic anything aside from: "Reusing Ranma 1/2 characters, boring tropes and put it in a blender with small amounts of One Piece"?
I can't fathom how Dobson can say things like he 'wants to tell stories' when his main offender this far has been a derivative comic that's hardly telling a story at all and fails on all fronts to even remotely be creative. I'd like to read that comic online, just to see how far the rabbithole goes. And on a sidenote: Geez. Looking up Dobson on Amazon almost makes you feel sorry for the guy. Almost. Those reviews...
Also something that actually bothered me: I always was under the impression he was at least somewhat into Manga, but apparently, he has some sort of hateboner? Why steal from Ranma 1/2 and make horrible fetish-art of Azumanga Daioh when you look down on Manga or even hate it?
I doubt there's a more competetive field for cartoons and comics than the ever growing jungle of Manga and Anime, so if anything, that particular medium should have shown him there's only two ways of succeeding in making yourself a name:
1) Pandering to the max (like with Lucky Star and K-On)
or
2) Somehow stick out through creative story or impressive style (which is obviously easier said than done)
And in both cases, you need to bust your ass to even dream about making it.
So his inability to branch out and try new styles is the fault of a medium he consumed some time ago?IICR Dobson blames his artistic stagnation on his past interest in anime and manga, ignoring that there's plenty of talented western animators and cartoonists who were influenced by it.
It's really worth mentioning right now that the creator of Avatar: The Last Airbender (which of course led to Korra) was apparently heavily influenced by FLCL, an absolutely insane anime.IICR Dobson blames his artistic stagnation on his past interest in anime and manga, ignoring that there's plenty of talented western animators and cartoonists who were influenced by it.
Well he used to have http://www.syacartoonist.com/ but I guess it doesn't exist anymore? Not sure when he took it down. So, does Dobson have a comic online at the moment that's not hosted on DA?
