Also, out of those bits of character bits (so and so is black, ect) how many of them weren't done for "look how diverse we are!" points and aren't in fact just going to be stereotyped... or criticized for not being stereotypical enough.

Like damnit, I end up headcanoning half of the characters I like but there's at least either reason, an amusing excuse or some sort of potential to it being cute/funny/oneofthoseotherboringthings

I'm just saying, I'd take nine characters that were actual honest attempts at a (x) character than 9000 that were just "this character is (x) because suck it dudebros/cissies/whatever else" and clearly had nothing else going for them. Even Mario games can get that right, like in the Japanese version of Paper Mario 2, one of the partner characters is all but stated to be a transwoman but has a heck of a lot more going for her while tumblr's version of "diversity" is "catkin demisexial demoman. What's his personality? He's a demisexual catkin."

Similarly not so keen on it in official stuff. I mean, it's usually not like these companies don't have existing characters that fit the bill that couldn't just be played up a bit and promoted. Worked for the Fire Emblem series.

Dobbs is reaching Chris-chan levels of empathy here with his "I sympathize with the dead journalists, I was once sprayed by water so I know what what it's like to fear for your life!"

I cannot get over just how disconnected Dobs is with reality on this subject. I don't think he has the emotional understanding to grasp the difference between "being sprayed with water" and "being shot to death". It's like he's trying to fish for empathy points in everything he does, or at least attempts to present himself as a hero and a martyr for a righteous cause.

Paris attack? Oh, yeah, I know that feel too because someone spritzed water on me once. It was like my childhood when the neighborhood kids ganged up on me and sprayed me relentlessly with Super Soakers. It could happen again any time, any where, but I keep on fighting the good fight. Granted many of these things are basically set from birth but until puberty it's probably always gonna be ((blank)) If anything the closest they'd get at the time is maybe not getting the whole "cooties" thing or not fangirling over that one boy band their friends all like or little stuff like that.

I mean, if they're ever gonna be shown as adults maybe that might factor in (like if you do a lot with a character at different ages) but well... I don't see Dobby mentioning that.

Forgot to add: being sprayed with water =/= murder or attempted murder unless you're the wicked witch of the west. Most people might mention that and not expect pity on how it "messed them up" but more "as unpleasant as it was, it doesn't even compare to..."

his little theories about Bobs burgers are extremely creepy. I mean, his little obsession with Korra being a lesbian was creepy as fuck too, but at least there it was about two grown fully developed women, and it wasn't any worse than what 15 year old girls on tumblr do. There's so much wrong with Dobsy here that it isn't even funny. First off, how the flying hell does the massacre of Journalists equate to petty criticism over twitter and deviantArt? Those things are so far apart, I'm more then sure I suffered an aneurysm there.

And if he really wanted to talk about the criticisms he's received, then why bring up said massacre? If he "respects artistic free speech" that much, then why the hell does he go on these stupid tirades and block people when they have a valid opinion about him and his art? I'm surprised that he hasn't reported any of them too.
