I'm still not used to my tablet and yet I can figure out how not to make my lines look jagged. There's something off about his construction too.

Dobson confirmed for trying to stay relevant even though he truly has no idea what the fuck is going on.
 
I'm terrible. The first thing I noticed is that the way he drew Luigi he looks to be kinda fat. Even though Luigi is, y'know, the tall skinny one. Also Dobson is nearly as tall as Luigi as he tries his damnedest to pretend he didn't depict the girl as an airhead on purpose.
 
I had honestly never heard of this guy before, but he seems like one huge example of this is what happens when you refuse to ignore the trolls.

Well, that and anyone that denies critique after having been in art school is pretty laughable.

I'd love to have more critique as it's so freakin' hard to get on venues with popularity games like DA and such.

I got a mild chuckle out of one or two of his comics, looking through some, but the ratio for kind of funny to seriously unfunny is pretty awful.

It's like he tries too hard with everything but inking and coloring his art in a way that isn't spectacularly shitty.

It's okay, he's just terribly designed!
As for the lines, might be the program you use. Paint tool sai's got some lovely smoothing options going for it!

Also that "looking down on you" glasses style would have been genius if it was intentionally used for a unlikable dickhead character who was meant to be such.

And did he really swipe a line from the Casper movie for a punchline wat?
 
There are homeschooled Mormon children in rural Utah who have more street smarts and humor than Dobson has.

No, he's to referring Luigi's Mansion, where Luigi has a vacuum for sucking up ghosts. He's implying that Luigi is helping him suck out the soul of Vivian James to make her appeal more to the people who created her. He's saying that his original depiction of her was correct, that it was not a dumbed down concept of her character at all, in fact it was better.

Not necessarily. That's like saying you can't call yourself a pacifist if you enjoy going on killing sprees in GTA.
 
From what I see, Dobson is actually making fun of how movements need to have mascots as if it's necessary. For him, it's ridiculous for the GamerGate movement to have a mascot (which seems to be Vivian James which Dobson is parodying) because there's no need for it.

Vivian James is not a mascot of the GamerGate movement at all. She's only a representation of the /v/ board, much like ED has its own mascot who is ED-tan and Reddit has its mascot which is an alien.

After the first comic Dobson posted, there's tons of criticisms about it. Some are sending threats to him. Some are worrying about how Dobson drew curves for Vivian (no srsly). The notable criticism was how Dobson parodied Vivian to be giggling. (Although I haven't seen any much criticism about this, but I don't know) Hence the second comic.

Still, Dobson didn't do much research about GamerGate enough (I remembered that he once admitted that he didn't know much about GamerGate). Found this comment which pretty much sums up:

I can't honestly tell if he's desperately trying to save face and failing or if he's just that clueless. I mean, he can't be that clueless, can he? He must have at least a teeny tiny hunch that maybe, maybe, people were "avoiding the point" of his previous comic simply because they were having the hardest time finding a point to begin with. And I wonder who's fault is that.

Never mind the fact that he's implying that the complainers are saying depicting a smiling and happy person is a bad think on itself, more than it simply does not match Vivian's personality at all.

Never mind the fact that he can't really call it nitpicking, since it is a really, really blatant "mistake". Unless to Tom "nitpicking" translates into "pointing out you did something wrong instead of mindlessly praising you work" (and I'm pretty sure it does).

Never mind the fact that the issue they were "nitpicking" about was accessory to a (very) gratuitous "jab" at Gamergate, which no, Preston, that was the point of the first panel. I'm sorry. If it wasn't, you wouldn't put a balloon bubble on Vivian and take a potshot at the movement by implying they are hypocrites for daring not to be the woman-hating criminal scum that you convinced yourself they are.

Never mind the fact that he's still referring to Vivian as a mascot and if the whole point of the comic was that every movement needs a mascot he's still a clueless idiot because she. isn't. a mascot. HOW THE FUCK CAN YOU STILL GET THAT WRONG AFTER WRITING EXACTLY WHERE SHE CAME FROM, JESUS CHRIST ON A POGO STICK.

I have to stop. I'm losing it. I don't know how, but this guy manages to rustle every single one of my jimmies. This is not good for my health. I got to get me some tea. NOW.
