The-Golden-Knight dijo:Well, that depends. Ideally, we'd have much more variety and women will have role models to aspire to. But, in actuality, that requires battling THE "Heart of the Problem," which is bigger than even the Evil Sorcerer Stupidity tm(but no denying that Stupidity *IS* a huge power-player in this equation). It's the damned "pack mentality" and the need to feel like royalty without any merits, the driving force behind the common movement to "Exclude!" This beast is what's behind all the harassment across the entire Wild Web. Mobs of cowards rallying to tear down anyone with any decent amount of clout for whatever insecure reasons are held.
Sometimes, the famous person would goof and this mob would emphasize the goof to the nth degree, drowning out ALL the positive attributes accredited to an otherwise fine leader or icon (Believe me, I've felt the receiving end of that); which I should call the Enquirer Effect, named after the National Enquirer. Sometimes, it's basically like politics: warring about disagreeing ideologies. And sometimes, too many people are just EVIL like that!![]()
That does not change the fact that before the "ideally" can come into play, these named evils must be absolutely annihilated! And press plus trolls, PLEASE quote me on that! We need "The absolute annihilation of THE Heart of the Problem!"![]()
oh hai Jay
Maybe not, but millions have found that their faith has brought peace, happiness, and a sense of purpose. Maybe you don't think it's necessary, but if it makes him happy and not a bitter asshole, wouldn't that be a good thing overall?Nobody needs religion.
He'd just use that as another excuse in his already impressive repertoire, always.

The weak use religion as a crutch and a wall to the things they cannot themselves face. I say this personally. Lying to yourself and acting like some fairy tale figure in the clouds or in the mythos of your mind will stop you from facing yourself. In AA, or the narcotic equivalent, they feed people who need to face their evils a porridge of placing your faults at the feet of of a God. It becomes easy to say, God will do this. God placed this event in front of me.
Hope floats as they say.

Someone needs a chill pill. Some people feel they need religion, some don't. Both have valid reasons and it's not something to get pissy about. The weak use religion as a crutch and a wall to the things they cannot themselves face. I say this personally. I love his ability to say everything in an insulting, backhanded manner. Now we get out of the way, let's get back to topic.
Once again, repeating this backpedalling again.

I think you just nailed Tom Preston's problem in a nutshell. His work isn't so much "bad" as it is very, very mediocre. And, you get the idea that he has the talent and skill, but puts in no effort to use those things. But, there's tons of artists like that. The reason Dobson gets a big lolcow following is that he's a mediocre artist with a really snotty attitude about it.I love his ability to say everything in an insulting, backhanded manner.
I honestly doubt it. Maybe there was a point where he wasn't as despised as he is now. But I don't think he was always universally liked at one point. Was there ever actually a point in Dobby's "career" where he wasn't despised by someone? Given how the guy appears to thrive off of hate, I find it hard to believe he ever got popular without it.
PS - Sorry if that comes off as A-loggy, I'm actually 100% serious.
