it kinda blows my mind that dobson

a) couldn't be arsed to draw something new and just used an old drawing to ham-fistedly insert himself onto a bandwagon
b) would get snippy with null when the artwork is criticized for being old when it's the exact same as his recent work
c)would get snippy with twitter users who don't understand the rice/beans thing when the drawing is literally being repurposed from nearly a decade ago and the japanese mythos has literally nothing to do with what he's talking about

like, you wanna be a big feminism sj kinda guy that's fine but at least give a damn. some doodle of the snu snu girl smashing some consoles would be juvenile and unproductive but at least he would've given half a shit and to put pen to paper to express his feelings on something he allegedly cares about.

I dunno, his hands seem better in the old work. Again, I mistook that for improvement.

I think the trouble is that being a lesbian (and wanting to rape her captain) is such a huge part of her character. I mean, normally your sexuality is just a small part of who you are. With this character, her sexuality is practically her entire personality. That's my understanding of the situation, anyway.

It came from another strawman comic where when presented with someone who opposes gay marriage, his recommended course of action is to physically assault them. It's that and the fact that he thinks it's clever.
 
This guy's art is just bland and unremarkable. If it didn't have the stupid blue bear, I couldn't tell the difference between Dobson's work and the other half dozen unfunny web comics inside Golden Knight's cesspool of a favorites gallery.

Come to think of it, was it even really opposed rather than ignorant? So basically it's not even "assault those who oppose you" rather it's "assault those who don't IMMEDIATELY PUT YOU FIRST"

I tried to find it but he deleted it.
Let me try to remember.
What happened was at a Miss America pageant, Miss California said she believes marriage is between a man and a woman. I disagree with her, but that's her opinion and opposing opinions are not illegal (on an off-topic note, she's doesn't seem very bright since she called California a country). She's not even decreeing anything. How can she? So that was the basis of the comic and Preston decided to make her dumber in appearance. Lesbo pirate drop kicks her and says she doesn't tolerate ignorance and she's crowned Beauty Queen.

All he really needed to say was "Those are some valid points, duly noted."

I guess it takes real confidence and resolve to believe that you are utterly beyond criticism, your work completely beyond reproach.

He has been improving lately. After he got slammed for some comments he made about #gamergate, he started to re-examine his sources and realized he had made some mistakes. He admitted he was wrong and said he would try to be better informed in the future.

Sure, he turned around and started trolling the SJWs right after that... baby steps.
 
But are you really trying, Dobson? Are you, really?

Part of being an artist is growing a thick skin. When you ask yourself "What's the point?" you have to find an answer. Instead of asking "How can this be used against me?" you should be asking "What do I want to say?" and "How can I say it to the best of my ability?" Dobson's problem isn't his critics, it's that he's inherently pessimistic.
