I... uhhh... honestly, it's really asking a bit much to think that an artist has to replicate exactly the art style of the source material. There are a lot of unique designs and whatnot so whenever fanart is made it's almost a given that sometimes the given interpretations are radically different from the actual design. I mean, for example:

The idea of fanart is that it's an interpretation of the source material from another artist. If you wanted to criticize maybe the flat colors or something that'd be perfectly fine since it's a given Dobson fallacy since he first started drawing, but saying that Dobson is terrible because he isn't drawing like the artist of the original pic is... well... silly.

... Dobson's fursona still looks dumb though.

I do agree, but in Dobson's case, we often face the problem that he's not translating a character into his (or a different) style, he tries to emulate the original style and fails. And I'd say if someone is basically using some cargo-cult rip-off style and botches it, that's fair game for criticism.

The "older generation" he refers to is just some imaginary group of "Statler and Waldorf"-esque baby boomers that deliberately are assholes towards the younger generation for no reason cause that's the extent to which Dobby has to dumb down reality in order to successfully squeeze it into his 90s cartoon world view.

Anyone who feels the need to emphasize how much she or he has grown, hasn't grown at all. It is the same with those teens at school, who braged about how much sex they had - they didn't and had no idea what they were talking about. Apart from that, Dobson proves again why he will never be funny, he doesn't know the first thing about comedy. In the end, nearly every joke you can tell is offensive to someone.
