One thing led to another and soon Dobs declared himself flawless (something he always craved) since, y'know, he does have a lot of fans that tell him he's perfect and everyone saying otherwise was an uneducated cretin or a troll. At least in Dobbys mind.

Dobson art progress essentially plateau right about the "very promising" stage and never went beyond that. I've seen drawings of his from 10 years ago that are indistinguishable from what he does now. It seem it is no coincidence that at time his DeviantArt following and popularity was at it highest that he got lazy and over confident with his skills and decided that further artistic grow was a waste of time.

This is the perfect example of how an inflated ego and a lack of self awareness and self critique can destroy an artist development.

This is also patent in his SYAC strips where he always portrays himself as being in the right, always the wiser, always the one on top and his detractors as ugly strawmen. This is why I sustain that Dobson must have a level of autism, any normal minded person would take a step back and realize they should keep their ego in check, question themselves and show a bit of humility. Has any of Dobson's comics shown himself being in the wrong once?

The face... is he working on a 100 x 100px canvas; Is he working on flash; Has he not realized the simple trick of working on a bigger canvas and then down scaling is a thing that most artists do. The line work is atrocious, what with it being the same density and width everywhere. And the shit-on-a-shingle muddy muted coloring creates such a strong contrast with the completely black lines. Amazing that Dobson has not figured out that you should not use 100% pure black if you plan to color something. I also suspect that Dobson does not or cannot use his eyes, because no artist (or human being) who actually goes outside can mistake this for natural or even correct lighting. Nice background by the way, it took you, what, 4 years to stop using gradients?

The whole thing has the consistency of a shitty rag, made in 2004 computer software to be posted on Newsground.

Best thing about it is that in the next page, he apparently feels capable enough to explain to us why Frank Miller's latest artwork is bad.

There are images with way more spectacular fuck-ups (such as a character lacking a finger on one hand, stuff like that), but to me, that image is a really good summarization of why Dobby sucks so much. Hank's Design is hardly very complex and the style is pretty straight forward, too. Still Dobby failed to get it right. He neither is on-model with the KotH style, nor did he use his own style to make this image. It's just a really lackluster off-model piece of fanart with a lot of issues (that 1000 yard stare, to name one).
But you wanna know the straw that will break the camels back on this image?

Hank is blatantly traced. Dobby altered the aspect ratio a bit, but it's obvious when you make an overlay of both images. Seriously, at thi point, Dobson can't even trace an image without fucking up.

I don't get what the hell his deal with Lesbian it. Actually I lie, I do know about it, because Andrew here attempted to sell Tshirts of a Lesbian Kick. Smooth. Maybe one day one of these SJWs may get lost and accidentally buy one of them.

As for the inking it self, its actually on part with a lot of the stuff made in Inktober. I've seen way worse. But its not by any means good. Compare, this was done in two hours.


The only time I was genuinely impressed by his inking was with the Big Ben Debacle, when he google imaged the clock tower of Big Ben, slapped a filter on it and called it a day. After everybody and their mother pointed out that Big Ben wasn't actually inked, Dobson's response was to ink this.

Impressive how the only time he was done something that punched above his art skills was when he got caught and was completely angry about it. He even filmed it as well.

I can't help but ask why he needs to shoehorn in his damn lesbian fetish in everything. Also the best thing I can say about the art is that at least they match the show. Otherwise it's about on par with the rest of his crap.
