Dobson can't find the redeem key option? Steam has problems, but I thought it was tardproof on that front.

This speaks a lot about why Dobson hasn't been able to get further with his career. No one in their right mind should be doodling in the middle of their shift, and their excuse for being late should be that their comic strip was taking up time.

And then when he has no job except, presumably, being a cartoonist, suddenly he doesn't want to do it.

Dobson is what is called an asshole.

OK, either this guy is playing dumb for attention, or he is certifiably insane. There are several pull-out menus at the top of the Steam program, and one of them is literally "Activate Steam Key". It couldn't be more obvious.

I bet he opened the program, saw the interface, and got scared.

I am a hundred percent certain Dobson would instantly dismiss such criticism by stating that him being absent-minded during his work hours is totally justified since it doesn't mean he's doing a worse job (hint hint: even if that wasn't utter bullshit, boss still don't care and slap your shit). Also, since it's the great Dob, I expect him to assume that since that job isn't important to him, it's totally ok to half-ass it. On the contrary, the fact the payment isn't very good is all the more reason to half-ass it.
The real depressing part is that his patrons are paying him money for him to produce new content and instead he provides these ancient chicken scratches instead. Guy has no shame and no pride for his work.
You don't understand. Patreon is acting up on Dobson, he stated it multiple times. So, naturally, while Patreon is busted, he can't make art.

As usual, instead of whining on twitter, he could have just googled it and be done with it, but this sucker can't drop a coin without whining on twitter.
Also, yeah, it's nigh impossible to figure out to click the "add game" button in the library...

Even worse, the way that comic is set up, it looks like the protag is actually too dumb to take some menial job to pay his bills and instead makes it a habit to fall back on mommy-funds, full well expecting his parents to pay his bills until he eventually gets some money on terms he can agree with.
I mean, this guy writes applications to someone, has no job at all but not until he's 3 days short of being evicted from his home -and- his parents refusing to pay for his inability to make a living of his own does he consider taking a job. . . which, despite being advertised in the coffee shops window, is already taken.

That comic is pretty damning of Dobby. That's his work ethic on display. He's not on time and inattentive at work. When fired, when he would have more time to work, he delays his comic. He begs his parents to bail him out, but apparently wastes the money given. He had to be months behind to get his electricity cut off. He is also being evicted, so one wonders what he spent all that money on. He had no savings either.
Despite being deeply in debt and without a job, he's at Cafe Latte drinking what's sure to be an expensive drink.
And his hope is all pinned on one publisher picking up his work.
Amazingly someone does. And not only do they pick it up, they give him a massive advance. Without talking to the artist. Without any kind of contract. Just here's some money, make us comics.
Yeah, Dobby. No wonder you haven't made it.

Actually, they offer an advance payment, they don't outright give it to him.

Everything else, yeah, pretty much. Dobs is a wonder of the modern world. He has a gift to make a story about a downtrodden artist, hard pressed by the world around him and he manages to make that person such a blundering idiot. The boss, who's no doubt meant to be a prickly-wickly meanhead, is so relateable. If I was manager of "Burger Burger" (*sigh*) I would fire that asshole, too. I bet we're supposed to hate the boss' guts for not being an understanding, kind and empathic person that just pats the poor artist on the back and tells him not to worry about his massive incompetence to do his job and arriving to his shift on time.

Of course, this could all just be us reaching, but with Dobbo and all we know about him, he just doesn't really deserve the benefit of the doubt. This is what Dobson thinks is justified behaviour as a person.

Since there is now a thread about David Willis, I have gained a new "appreciation" of Dobson. No matter how much of a shithead Willis is, at least he's productive, unlike Dobson.

Ah ah ah, you forget that this is Dobson here, he just defaults to bitching on twitter over everything. You really expect a grown man like him to take five minutes (or not even) to find that out?

Whaaaaaaat? You have to click 'Games' to redeem game codes? Woooooow. Nice programming, Valve! AHAHAHAHAHA! *clap clap clap*

Shit, I got the wrong cow didn't I?

...he can't use Steam? Christf he ever tried to use Oyoa or Origin eye atrocities he would have never made it past the front page.

Steam (especially in big picture mode) is literally one of the most streamlined and simplified storefronts ever. The fact he cannot get around is astounding.

And you know, its ussually old people who are having (like my 50 year old parents) who have problems with basic technology like touchscreens and androids. Is Dobson turning into an ineffective unadept old man? Is he going to start screaming about kids getting off his lawn now?
