I don't get the second tweet at all. Is that supposed to badmouth heterosexual men?
Also, I'd say it's a different group that's not only disregarding the objectification of men but also ignoring all aspects of a game to fabricate meticulously manifactured outrage over the attire of a female sidecharacter.

who takes MGS serious anway? I mean, it certainly has something going on for it here and there in terms of story and creativity, but come on. The game features people fighting against weird guys in sowjet russian space suits somewhere down the line. any person who complains about how it is a serious game that does sexist shit, is unaware of how much Kojima just does whatever he wants with it and laughs when his fans scream "holy shit" on forum boards.

EDIT: BTW
Heterosexual men are so easily distracted they will ignore an entire game about sexualized masculinity to focus on the time they saw a titty

That sounds more like Dobson getting angry about Quiet than any norml person reacting to MGSV. So if anything that girl is making fun of people like him and he is too blind to realize it

Oh hey, it's like how Dobson ignored the entirety of a video game sexualized men to focus on one girl in a bikini.

Unfinished SYAC Story
Published 13 minutes ago

This was going to be the 4th SYAC short story.

I wrote this shortly after MCM London, but wasn't able to finish it because at that time I got really sick and needed to get away from art. The fact that the story is so depressing also contributed to me not wanting to go back and complete it.

Since Patreon has been acting up, I decided to go through and refine the text and put it together into a PDF for everyone to read. I don't know if I ever will finish it, but here's a complete short story in it's sketch phase for you to enjoy!

I'm working on getting the other 14 pages up on here(on mobile atm). Stay tuned.

EDIT: Okay, here's the first half. I'll upload the rest in the next post.

Dobson just posted this to his Patreon along with all his Inktober. It's his idea for a video game.

"PIXELS
Published 18 minutes ago

This is a video game concept I’ve had for a while. It’s called “PIXELS” (no relation to the Adam Sandler movie).

The world becomes fragmented into varying degrees of pixelated graphics. Some parts of the world are 8-Bit, some parts are 16-Bit, and some are Atari 2600 level graphics. To get through each level you (the player) are able to decrease the resolution of one object, and increase the resolution of another.

The puzzle aspect is that the varying resolutions can’t display the path properly, so you need to change the resolution (either by sucking pixels away, or giving more pixels) to help navigate yourself to the goal.

So for example as illustrated above, the goal is in the center of the Castle. But in Atari mode, you can't see the goal. Upgrading the surrounding into 16-bit shows the goal, but you're still trapped out of it. Upgrading to the highest resolution shows a path you can use to get inside and complete the level.

The TWIST of the game is that you can suck the pixels from ANYTHING, even to the point of erasing them completely. That includes NPC’s. Sometimes a level will not provide you with enough pixels to continue and you’ll be forced to make a choice of sucking the pixels out of characters who aid your help or just live around the area. So there are real consequences to just taking pixels away from everything to move forward.

The problem making this game a reality is the level of art assets needed to even just make a proof of concept is MASSIVE. And I just honestly don’t have that kind of time right now."

Already seen a game that does that "generational" transition but I'm not going to hold it against him since video games is the one medium where the same ideas get used all over the place.

It's odd that he calls this a depressing comic, as it does end on a high note, but maybe it's depressing to him in that he never reached that last page in his real life career as an artist. And he wrote this right after MGM London, so I think this was right around the time of the Big Ben controversy and the Squirt Bottle Incident. An interesting look into his fram of mind at the time, I suppose.

Well success is triggering to dobbie.
He would have to work to a schedule, complete his work, answer to his boss without giving the fuckie finger and accept that being employed as an artist requires the same if not greater work ethic as any other job.
Infact its actually depressing when your hobby becomes your job because you lose your escapism.

That's the thing. It ends with a happy ending, but the threat of him being kicked out still lingers. And that's why Dobson claims it to be "Dark" you see.

In all seriousness, it feels like he only made this simply because he himself wishes he could be in the protag's shoes. At least the "Professional cartoonist" part of it. The whole thing just reeks of USI and wish fulfillment.

He missed off the reveal panel that shows null posting the letter.

This speaks a lot about why Dobson hasn't been able to get further with his career. No one in their right mind should be doodling in the middle of their shift, and their excuse for being late should be that their comic strip was taking up time. If Dobson acted like this while employed, I'm not surprised he got fired. At the same time, he doesn't even manage his art and gaming time well I shouldn't talk because I'm sperging over this dude while I've got my own comic to write

There is one thing you should know when it comes to publishing anything: You will be rejected, a lot and every 'overnight success' took years and years of work before it started. There are exceptions to that, but you won't be that exception.

The truth is, that there are thousands of other artists or authors out there that try exactly the same thing you are trying to do. All of them are banging on the doors of the publishers or pour their work into the big pool of online-self-publishing. You are only one of many and all you can do is to submit story after story, comic after comic constantly improving your art. Your job comes first, then your art.

The real depressing part is that his patrons are paying him money for him to produce new content and instead he provides these ancient chicken scratches instead. Guy has no shame and no pride for his work.

Its been two years since i've layied my eyes out on Tom Preston. Back in ED forums when I was a regular I was one of the first to be posting rants on his thread and following his progress. The fact that he is still milkable after all these years just show how far deep in the lulzhole this man(child) can be exploited too.

Oh, and his inks for inktober are ... not good. . Its amateur at best, and whoever thinks they are good shows at best a higher level of incomprehension.

If this was the old EDF, I would post art to compare Dobson art's vs somebody 10 years younger then him being lightyears ahead of his. I will restrain for a bit before doing so.

So Dobson has finally made his ultimate Mary Sue fantasy comic. I'd call it his Sonichu, but this isn't really anywhere near as entertaining as Sonichu. Just Dobson writing what he wants to happen in his life.

Wait, I thought his whole point was that the female characters were sexualized as opposed to the MENZ with their AGENCY. I don't want to put more thought into this than he did though.

On a more exciting note, someone missed this from one of those Twitter ads from a while back:
