You know, I think I found what looks so wrong when Dobby tries to do a "happy" face post-anime-style.

Just quickly edited out the lower mouth curve and it looks like a super-wide frown... No wonder his "grins" looked so fake.

Not really a fan of splatoon but my nieces love it and it seems fun and exciting (for kids).
In dobbies are he still manages to make it dull and joyless.
Splatoon is messy....dobbies art is sterile and clean.

True. But aren't there some legal loopholes that can actually result in someones copyright being transfered to others or the creator losing the rights when he doesn't manage to pay some legal fees every couple of years?

Legal Kiwis, please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think @UglyOldJafar is thinking of trademark, which you would have to pay for and prove that you're still actively using. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trademark#Maintaining_rights.

Something you create is copyrighted to you the moment you create it. Registering it is a formality that helps you if you need to prove something is yours so you can sue someone. Otherwise, it's yours unless you sign away rights or as @AnOminous said, you've been dead 70 years.

All of Dobbie's stuff is still his until long after most of us are dead - unless he sells the rights to them.

I think u can basically copyright anything if your willing to pay.
But later if anyone finds your product infringes or copies an existing product then its challenged.
In short CWC could copyright sonichu up until sega or Nintendo took the time to notice.

If you want to read an interesting but off topic example of this then read up on the legality of Marvel and DC and the captain marvel brand.

I don't know much about US law, but in Germany you can't copyright works which don't meet certain criteria of "creative quality" ("Schöpfungshöhe"), that is, you can't copyright a stick figure doodle. In fact, porn videos are not copyright protected under German law, because they allegedly don't have sufficient creative quality. Chris probably couldn't copyright Sonichu for the same reason.

Question is: is this supposed to be Ian McKellen or is it the Bakshi Gandalf?
At first glance this one doesn't look too bad, it's got some texture too. I give it a pass

It looks fairly decent compared to his usual work, and for once being more line-heavy on the face works better since Gandalf's old. His hat appears to be kind of floating though, but perhaps that's just me.

Can you explain? Is the poster a big GG proponent, or is it "any criticism of the media is pro-GG"?

Boogie calls himself a neutral party on the matter, which is enough for most people, but when he does talk about the topic, he generally criticizes the same people and behaviors that GG does, which makes him a shitlord in the eyes of hardliners.

The tweet itself does say, "Media bias is not exclusive to gaming". Adding to that, the infographic in the tweet was spread around a lot of GG areas, particularly KiA on reddit, and might have even been made by someone from there (I'm not sure). That's a lot more "guilt by association" than Dobson has been comfortable with in the past.

Also, I'm not sure why people think he deleted the retweet. It's still right there on his feed. He even retweeted the same thing from some furry a few hours later.

Honestly with how the last inktobers he has had, Dobby needs to quit digital painting and focus on traditional. He could actually do some serious progress if he just tweaks his anatomy and does physical coloring.

Copyright transfers must be in writing.

Also, technical requirements for registration are abolished as of 1976. You can't lose your copyrights by simply failing to do something.
