I wonder how many of these are still licenced under legit copyright law.
Now to be fair, that he licenced them is not surprising. After all, they are original works (based on not so much original ideas) he thought he could use as plattform for a life long career as animator and comic artist instead of a lolcow. But reality had other plans

True. But aren't there some legal loopholes that can actually result in someones copyright being transfered to others or the creator losing the rights when he doesn't manage to pay some legal fees every couple of years?
BTW, I managed to read at least a couple of pages of Formera and his Percy Phillips book (the detective pseudo manga).
Long story short: I think Dobson ripped the opening sequence of Kingdom Hearts off for the first page of Formera and if anything is hurting the story, it is how generic it all just looks. And Percy Phillips is an attempt to make Sherlock before the BBC did, but it fails. Percy comes off more like someone with a constant headache than your typical Holmes rip off (you know: kind of misanthropic yet utterly intelligent) and Dobson at one point seems to not understand how "show, don't tell" works. See, there is this one case that out of sudden starts with Percy wanting to go somewhere specifically, because he got a hint that his archnemesis may show up there. When Not-Watson asks who that person is (I am not telling her name yet, it is too good as that I spoil it now), Percy goes on to explain to him that said person is his personal Moriarity. And that is where I have sort of an issue with. It is common for fans to compare the relationship between two archenemies in fiction, especially in crime series, with the one of Holmes and Moriarity. I get that, no problem. But often times they conclude such an comparison AFTER they have seen the two characters interact or how the hero behaves when coming closer to said person. Dobson's "Moriarity" has not even been shown in the story yet, nor have we seen interaction between her and Percy. So instead of making the quality of the story help people conclude that she is supposed to be a real villain, the creator tries to force the conclusion on us.
And yes, I said her and she. Percy's Moriarity is supposed to be a woman.
... a woman by the name of Mindy.
Truly a name of evil.

(that's not how lunar phases work; they're not caused by anything obscuring the moon but by the change of day and night on its surface. Also, if there's some body in front of the middle moon, how come this body is dark?? It should be illuminated like the other three... oh wait, Nookie Bear and lightsource-consistency don't go together...)
Could be some evil dark moon, that does not reflect light... but even if it is (which I don't believe), the tidal forces on this planet must be pretty impressive....
Actually I probably would have did the same with my first "big work of art", if I would live in the US. Here, you automatically own the copyright to everything you create. You can't blame Dobbs for being enthusiastic and wanting to 'secure' his own work...

I thought the plot of Formera was something with trying to avoid Dementor-Zombies while being accompanied by a young cave-woman.
Though in all fairness, what I have seen of Formera looks a tid bit better than his other stuff. Mostly because the main character does not look annoyed all the time unlike Alex, Percy or Dobbear.
In your defence it could have had lesbians, Dobbie just didnt get very far or introduce many characters.
Dobbie only wrote around 200 pages (including full page none story art) and most of it was the main character expressing his amazement at not being on earth anymore and the girl pointing at things.

And it is stuff like that why I believe that Dobson should really do more of a fancomic instead of something original. As much as you can look down at fanfics and fancomics for being unimaginative or suffocating in their own way, I have always believed that when not too badly writen, they can end up as nice little exercises in a person experimenting with certain genres, (art) styles/formats and finding out where their narrative strengths lie, while at the same time, because you work with characters and worlds created by others, you have more or less narrowed the scope down. As much as I love original work, I can see how you may end up screwing yourself over, because in trying to create your original thing and put as many characters as spontaneous ideas in it as possible, you may lose focus and therefore write yourself in a corner more easily/hit writers block. With fanfic you don't really have to create much new things, instead work with what is already there and can focus on trying to make it still sound exciting, even if others have already seen it. Spice it up and such to get people interested. Sure, in most cases you will probably just end up being made fun off for a bad story, but if you take something out of it, you may also still improve in some way. And I always thought that his storytelling skills are where he needs to improve more than with his art. That said, considering how he takes criticism, I don't want to know how he would react to a fanfiction mock.

So, his Percy Sherlock wannabe didn't go anywhere, Formera didn't go anywhere, AzP didn't go anywhere and his SYAC-spawns never meant to go anywhere . . .
Has this person ever made a complete story?
I know he made some shorts like the one about that weaboo-artist getting his ass kicked by Carl and that other comic about some girl making horrible slash-fiction for her friends at school... but seeing how Dobs isn't above patting himself on the back over his awesome art and story writing skills, I would have expected him to at least create one somewhat longer series of comics...

This just comes back to dobbie and his work ethic.
He cant even be bothered to finish his own products let alone alone anyone elses.
He doesnt understand story telling techniques and character development, cant stick to his own world building rules which is why he prefers those massive info dump panels.
When it comes to " show dont tell "dobbie much prefers lesbian info dump in a single text box filled panel.
I think the quote is taken from the movie, though.
Edit:
Kinda stumbled over this image and can't remember ever seeing it in this thread, so I figured, I'll just post it...
It's truly a marvel how stiff all his poses look, the action lines in this one *should* make this look like a very dynamic and vivid pose, but somehow, it's just really awkward and stiff...
Also, looking at this image, I realize we could save a shitton of time by standardizing complaints about his fuckups, a bit like "Liefeld Disease", only with Dobby it's a whole list of things...
