Since the thread has kind of plateau'd for now, I wanna ask something.

Did Dobson really have potential at some point? I mean, there's no denying that his 2004-2006 stuff was better than his current material, but surely his fucked up superiority complex was around then. Was he always such a huge ass or did his ego take time to metastasize into what we're looking at now?

All evidence points to him always being a huge ass with gigantic ego. His art is mediocre, but has gone way down hill since his art school days.

He could have probably got some kind of work at a lower tier animation studio, but it was Disney or nothing for him. And he opted for nothing.
