Maybe it's because I don't have that high an opinion of newspaper comics in general, but I wouldn't be surprised seeing this in a newspaper. It really does drive home how much he's regressed in his craft.

The most obvious thing when you look over his stuff in general is that really, he seems only capable of working with that sort of newspaper style if anything. AzP and this are prime examples.

It's hard to imagine what could get you banned permanently, but it would have to be on that level.

I- I like this one.

Dobson seems to do much better with simpler designs. It's when he tries to add details to something that doesn't really need to be detailed that things come out looking crap(wide mouth, excessive face lines, ect). That and I think not fill bucket-ing everything improves the overall quality of his work.

Unless the school banned him and forgot or he just never tried to ride the bus again i cant see what he could have done for a life ban.
Maybe mummy told him he was banned cause she didnt want he riding with those brute males.

I went to school with a kid who kicked open the emergency door and dumped a bunch of kids into traffic.....he just got banned for a term and spent a month or so in detention.

It's sad, in a special kind of way, that Inktober draws out the best of him. I have to admit, that pic is pretty nice.

Those eyes look a bit sad though, even while running with that sparkler. Maybe this piece really is a mirror of the artist's soul.
