Oh my god. This is the most delusional thing I have ever read. The whole POINT of art school is criticism, because that's how you learn. He may have been a better artist than the average high school student, but once he got to art school, so was everyone else.

It's like he was incapable of handling the idea of not being a prodigy any more. What he doesn't realize is that you can't just skate by on natural talent; you actually have to work and practice and improve. Natural talent's fine if you're just messing around, but if you want to make it in the real world, you need to actually get some skills.

Random kids in his high school had the authority to appraise his art, but his colleagues in art school don't know what art is. And when Dobson went to school specifically for his quirk that set him aside in high school, he was upset that everyone else had the same quirk and he couldn't stand out anymore.
It's hilarious that he describes art school as a "daycare center for rich kids who think if they spend enough time in class they'll become the next Walt Disney", because that's exactly what he went into art school looking for. He went in there thinking he was talented enough already and just wanted to graduate to prove it. And then sentences later he says, in utter shock, that art school students think you have to learn and do hard work to get anywhere.

Holy shit, Dobson fits that "five people you meet in art school" comic so well by his own admission. He was the one who was the best artist in bumfuck nowhere art wise and couldn't take it when people who knew what they were talking about started looking at his work.

The fact that he presumes everybody who criticises his art just can't deal with his feminism... his talking about his college classmates "mistreating women by sleeping with them"... his repeating over and over again that he was "born to be an artist" and how he had "natural talent"... the fact that he seems to think somebody mildly criticising his anatomy was somehow insulting the very core of his being...

Honestly if somebody set out to write a parody Dobson post it's hard to imagine what they'd do differently.
