So I was discussing this with people: If we are going with the theory that Jace has two identies: Jace and Stryker, when is he Jace and when is he Stryker?

I thought about this when I first tried to make sense of his weird way of using certain words and phrases. I thought their meaning depended entirely on whether he was Jace or Stryker when he said them. But it didn't work out, Jace's mind is not that simple. I now believe that he's never fully Jace and never fully Stryker. He's moving back and forth on the Jace<->Stryker scale, sometimes rapidly, but he never really reaches either end of it.

I see his Mom's new "no Stryker in the house" rule as an attempt to forcibly drag him towards Jace and keep him there.

I don't know if anyone here is qualified to speculate, but also keep in mind we don't know what meds he's on and what they actually do to his psyche. Could be antipsychotics, could be lithium, could be any number of things.

My own history with mental health makes me think it could be something like bipolar disorder coupled with his childish and willful building of fantasy worlds. Obv. I don't know what meds he's on or what Doctor Faggot might have diagnosed him with, but with my mother and a few relatives suffering from a mixture of straight up bipolar or a bipolar/mild schizo combo that's what it leads me to think.

If it follows classic cases, the "ups" he experiences could be what he attributes to "Commander Stryker", since in his mind that's everything good, honest, and pure. Commander Stryker plays with his friends and vidyas and gets brought gamer snacks by The Best Mom Around :3. Jace sits alone in his room sober listening to Faggots try and control him. Maybe taking his medicine brings him back to reality and gets his chemicals in better balance.

They will often say they feel more creative and alive off the meds and the meds make them feel sluggish and slow. Also they may come to prefer their fictional reality to boring old normal reality.

This is true. I know somebody who's schizophrenic and while she knows she's better on her meds there are days she doesn't take them because they get in the way of her feeling anything. The problem is the longer she's off them, the stronger her delusions get and the more difficult it is to get her back on them.

I'm nowhere near a health professional but judging from what I know of schizophrenics, Jace's symptoms aren't that different.

Crossposting from the Waco Siege thread. So recently, someone brought up that Jace admits to being prescribed medications, but we don't know where he got them. He has a therapist, but therapists aren't allowed to prescribe meds, only psychiatrists. This means one of two things:

• There is a previously unknown Psychiatrist Faggot lurking somewhere in the shadows
• Jace has been on meds for a long time and has since stopped taking them or is taking less of them then prescribed due to his self-medicating with illegal drugs

Personally, my money's on the latter, since it goes a long way in explaining his downward spiral as well as his mood swings and general unpredictability. Long post incoming.

I think the more tame, down-to-earth "brodude" Jace we saw at the beginning was Jace when he was on proper medication, but his desperation to hang out with more teenagers and revive "Deagle Nation" (something he only begun caring about around Spring of 2013, mind) drove him to take more and more illegal substances, as well as drink more alcohol, as a way of fitting in and socializing with people (something he is inept at) Most, if not all of his friends have shown to only care about him when there's booze and/or drugs involved; recall that even Tyce only appeared on camera for the first time around the same time Jace started abusing alcohol, reviving "Deagle Nation", and smoking a little more weed.

Recall the "I'm Still Here" video, crushingly depressing, where Jace basically begs his friends to hang out with him again after getting gradually psychologically destroyed by /k/ over the course of the winter. His desperation and loneliness drove him to start hanging out with the "bad crowd" again for emotional support, and this slowly devolved when he again realized so painfully after the Tyce Takeover that his friends are really only there to fuck him over and steal his shit. With less and less of his friends hanging out with him, Jace then turns in desperation to his online friends, and when they are proven to be trolls, he turns to his imaginary friends, Soap the Wolf and Commander Stryker. This couldn't be any more obvious in his drug-fueled Twitter rant after the THC incident in which he hallucinated Soap basically saving his life, reassuring him and spirit guiding him to salvation as the two embarked on Pirates of the Caribbean adventures.

I approve of these naming conventions.

The tweets about his lifestyle being over from the psych meds remind me of a girl I knew when I started college. She had really bad anxiety issues and was prescribed oxycodone (IIRC) to handle them. She said that she hated being on the meds because she never acted like herself, she'd shoplift, get into fights, etc, while on them. Eventually, she turned to 4/20 and alcohol like Jace to self-medicate because she hated how the oxy affected her so much. I can see this being the same way. Maybe, on top of not having his Deagle Nation thoughts, Jace doesn't take to the medication well because it makes him feel like he's not himself. His tweets about Stryker "dying" seem less like schizophrenia and more like he's taking a drug strong enough that it leaves him feeling a bit reduced in capacity, and thus "dead". This might also fuel his desire to keep Stryker because he feels like Stryker is a "normal" part of him that the drug takes away and dumbs down.

I can't say anything for certain, though, because I'm not a psychiatrist or a medical professional.

My best guess is that he was on meds in his earlier videos where he's just Jace. If that's true, he's better off on them than off. Another question that brings up is if/when he's back on his meds and returns to being just Jace, if seeing his descent into insanity on youtube would discourage him from going off the meds in the future. Or whether it might have the opposite effect.

I'm not sure about a father figure, per se, but he's DEFINITELY his male role model. According to Jace, Rob knows what kind of music he likes, what kind of clothes, etc., and just generally "gets" his tastes. The only time he's been mad at him was recently with the Pastor Faggot shit when Rob sided with his mom, which was crushing for Jace, as far as I could infer. I've never seen him say a bad word about him otherwise, and he seems to light up whenever he talks about him. I wouldn't be surprised if the Stryker persona was based even a tiny bit off of Rob or something about Rob that Jace likes.

Yeah I've been thinking a similar thing, Rob is definitely the closest real-world role model Jace has. The other models he looks up to are fictional characters or equally unreachable people like John Cena. In that sense he's probably the healthiest role-model relationship Jace has because he's at least a real person he can interact with and learn from, but it evidently hasn't been enough to make him completely functional in society given his recent outburst. I think Rob siding with Gail and Pastor Faggot is definitely a big part of what put him over the edge into full Stryker mode.
